The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing Pearson VUE's business with both existing accounts and new accounts through effective client relationship management and successful sales and implementations of new clients and programs.

The Business Development Manager is accountable for tracking the renewal of contracts in a timely manner to ensure high quality service and the satisfaction of clients and will also collaborate with Pearson VUE's operational and technology teams to develop successful business development solutions.

Working closely with Pearson VUE's existing and potential accounts as well as the functional personnel of other departments, the Business Development Manager performs a key role in maintaining and growing Pearson VUE's business in test development and test delivery.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities in the assigned business markets.

  • Work with clients to develop and implement mutually beneficial programs to grow the overall size of the client's testing program and Pearson VUE's market share

  • Be continuously aware of opportunities to grow Pearson VUE's business and to protect Pearson VUE's position within existing accounts

  • Establish relationships with key decision makers at the appropriate executive level positions

  • Work closely with proposals, global business solutions development and other relevant implementation teams pre and post contract award

  • Negotiate contracts with both existing and new accounts

  • Attend industry conferences or trade shows as assigned

Contract & Fulfillment Management

  • Ensure that all services are invoiced in a timely manner per contract and scope agreements

  • Be aware of all contract or statement of work scope changes and where appropriate negotiate additional fees and/or compensation for the changes

  • Communicate significant account news to all affected departments within Pearson VUE on a timely basis

  • Track, document and communicate new client requirements and specific market developments to functional teams who must be kept aware of emerging requirements to allow Pearson VUE to meet customer needs and to allow Pearson VUE to stay at the forefront of testing technology

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business related field

  • 5+ years experience in business development, account management, or a related area

Or

  • MBA and a minimum of three 3 years experience

  • Licensure, certification and/or global computerized testing experience preferred

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable in computerized testing industries

  • Knowledge of Pearson VUE technology and systems

  • Excellent business writing and proposal writing skills

  • Customer focus required

  • Effective negotiation skills

  • Relationship management skills a must

  • Must be a good listener

  • Persuasive and Influential communication skills

  • Excellent time management and multi-tasks skills

  • Effective priority setting skills

  • Ability to be creative and flexible

  • Ability to deal with a level of stress

  • Experience with Federal procurement, and in selling to and contracting with Federal government clients, is a plus

  • Travel required as needed to client meetings, sales presentations and conferences (20%-40%)

As required by the

Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $70,000 - $80,000. This position is eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan, and information on benefits offered is here.

In doing so, the three core areas that a BDR will be responsible for are: * Be a founding member of our outbound Business Development team. Assist leadership as we hire, train, retain, and promote the future AEs & leaders of Faethm. * Build predictable, scalable, repeatable, and effective outbound prospecting playbooks leveraging the key insights and data from the Faethm Platform * Fuel the pipeline growth in North America by finding qualified opportunities over the phone, email, and social interaction. What will you do? * Qualify inbound marketing and web leads. * Qualify and contact approximately 100 prospects per day to schedule discovery calls and demos (meetings) for Account Executives. * Conduct initial conversations with prospects to qualify their needs and problems statements. * Generate leads through cold calling, social media, and email. * Leverage marketing campaigns (e.g., webinar, direct email) to book discover calls. * Input prospect qualification data and communications in HubSpot CRM. * Execute outbound playbooks at scale, setting up qualified new business opportunities for our Account Executives. * Work closely with marketing and sales executives on call strategies and messaging. * Ability to communicate to internal stakeholders the voice of the customer, to drive a customer-centric approach within Sales. * Contribute to a customer-centered organizational environment by providing internal stakeholders (Product, Marketing and Partnerships teams) with regular market updates, reporting metrics and insights. * Sharing your experience, learning, and knowledge with the team in a collaborative manner: we want to see growth for everyone at Faethm. * Have a maniacal focus on outcomes and impact.
