Reporting to the Director, Business Communications, this role will serve as both communications strategist and individual contributor who works collaboratively with AmerisourceBergen's Health System and Specialty Solutions (HS&SS) business, communications, human resources and marketing teams with the ultimate objective of supporting the long-term strategy, annual business goals and associates with enabling, educating and engaging communications.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulation and execution of an integrated internal and operational communications plan for the Health Systems & Specialty Services business based on AmerisourceBergen's strategy, purpose and annual financial goals

  • Develop and create effective copy and material for a variety of distribution sources (intranet, sales communications, executive communications, newsletters, etc.) to drive enablement and engagement in support of organizational goals

  • Establish internal communications governance for the HS&SS business and serve as a subject matter expert and central contact for all internal communications- ensuring standards and consistency of voice, appropriate to target audience.

  • Provide proactive support and become a trusted advisor to HS&SS leadership and team on communications issues; collaborate with human resources, marketing, sales, human resources, operations and other teams on key initiatives

  • Manage and provide long-term strategy for all internal communication channels by regularly reviewing the effectiveness of our tools; propose new and efficient mediums of communication as required

  • Manage the development and creation of measurement for communications channels and create a communications dashboard to be delivered every quarter

  • Define and manage distribution lists and processes for associate communications, establish and manage approval processes.

  • Work to ensure alignment of enterprise, group and business messaging

  • Analyze associate engagement survey results to inform communications strategy to drive deeper employee engagement

  • Utilize internal communications best practices to support change management and employee engagement initiatives

Requires training in the fields of Communications, English, Marketing or similar vocations obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program and/or diploma specializing in Communications; normally requires a minimum of six (6) years' experience leading organizational communication strategy in a Corporate environment.

Strong candidates are communications professionals with experience driving organizational communications for business-related programs. A successful candidate will have a deep commitment to customer service, a consultative approach to communications, and strong interpersonal skills required to operate well in a team environment.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong candidates are seasoned communications professionals with experience driving organizational communications for business-related programs.

  • A successful candidate will have a deep commitment to internal customer service, a consultative approach to communications, and strong interpersonal skills required to operate well in a team environment across multiple groups.

  • Experienced facilitator, skilled at identifying requirements, key messages, key stakeholders, and developing the approach to effectively share the information within the department as well as across the organization

  • Ability to execute as an individual contributor with limited oversight and additional resources

  • Strong organization and time management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities with competing deadlines

  • Superior business writing and oral presentation experience, including the ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, and executives

  • Ability to lead informally across multidiscipline work teams

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, as well as a service mindset

  • Experienced in the development of business process and technical based communications; able to translate complex content into "understandable" messaging

  • Experienced at designing, tracking, and managing new and existing communications vehicles

  • Ability to identify areas for process improvements and develop a plan to implement the necessary changes; ability to identify and drive ad-hoc communications

  • Skilled in editorial planning, content management, digital asset management and development

  • Strong computer skills; experience using tools such as Microsoft Office Products and SharePoint

Maintains confidentiality and displays discretion, especially as you'll likely be exposed to information ahead of the rest of the broader organisation in order to formulate the communications approach and messaging

This role is both strategic and tactical, with a deep understanding of our industry and overall the healthcare environment, superior and demonstrated ability to create stories and speech writing that is compelling, and exhibiting superior organizational, strategic thinking and managerial skills that drives toward the successful execution of an integrated executive communications plan. Job Description * Serves as a communications advisor for the Chairman and CEO, as well as other members of our executive management team. * Primary speechwriter for the CEO, EVP and Group President and other leaders as necessary. * Develops and maintains enterprise key messages, in-line with the organization's strategy and purpose, to incorporate into CEO and Executive presentations, remarks, thought leadership and other communications channels for both internal and external audiences. * Understands the unique voice and personality of the organization's senior leadership team and uses the principles of rhetoric to develop communications that will resonate and motivate the intended audience(s). * Responsible for developing presentations and remarks for quarterly Board of Directors meetings, customer and manufacturer meetings, as well as internal and external speaking engagements and events. * Develops processes and protocols to prepare and brief leaders in advance of internal and external events. * Manages and executes content strategy for our annual executive management meeting * Proactively manages team members' performance to ensure high-quality communications services, including editing, research, program management, etc. * Works closely with the Video Production team to create high-quality video and multimedia content that support our business objectives. * Seeks opportunities to improve communications effectiveness through new tools and strategies. * Educates and communicates goals, strategy, and methodologies clearly and persuasively. * Builds relationships with internal and external partners. * Serves as back up to VP, Business Communications and Executive Support in lead team and other meetings as necessary. * Serves as a communications adviser on solution development, events and programs, often serving as a member of special project teams or their steering committees. * Performs related duties as assigned.
