Avanades Advisory Practice focuses on the Identification, Formulation AND Realization of business strategy objectives utilizing Best Practices Methodology while creating an exceptional Client experience.

Overview:

Avanade is seeking a Manager to expand our Business Applications Advisory capabilities. You will collaborate with senior leadership and participate on engagements advising clients at the highest strategic level with big-picture and tactical guidance on how technology enables a wide range of business outcomes. You must possess exception analytical, interpersonal and creative thinking capabilities. You will need to be entrepreneurial, enterprising and personable, possessing exceptional leadership qualities, that allows you to assume a substantive role in the Advisory Practice with an ability to scale over time. Previous management consulting experience is necessary to be successful in this role.

As part of our Business Applications Advisory practice, youll help our clients realize business transformation, empower business process agility and provide business insight. The Advisory team provides strategic advice and leverages technology advancements (e.g., analytics, intelligent automation, etc.) to drive business transformation. We deliver our broad range of Advisory services through an integrated, collaborative approach between our clients and practitioners.

Day-to-Day/Key Role Responsibilities are:

  • Support Business Application Practice Leadership on client engagements, responsible for the project management and associated deliverables

  • Key responsibilities include: Create Strategy; Assessments; Vision & Roadmaps and Business Case deliverables as well as provide data driven informational workshops and presentations

  • Identify trends and strategies for Business Application solutions to meet client business, financial and technical objectives

  • Conduct detailed analyses/interviews to understand and explain client problems and utilize standard consulting engagement practices such as facilitation, interviewing, gap analysis, etc., and provide input for workshops and support clients in service delivery transformation

  • Identify, develop and document issues, perform analysis, draw conclusions and formulate strategic recommendations

  • Create clear and actionable strategic roadmaps and supporting business cases that both delineate a broader end-game, while also prioritizing quick wins with near-term measurable impact

  • Assist senior team members with sales efforts including development of client proposals and pitch mechanics

  • Travel as dictated by business needs, up to 80% overnight travel throughout North America

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6 or more years of Management Consulting experience from a top management or IT professional services firm and experience working on engagements in a highly matrixed external client facing environment

  • Previous project and people management experience, responsible for Deliverables and some budget responsibilities

  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with executive level clients, assessing stakeholders goals and objectives and the ability to translate ideas into strategic and practical solutions

  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills

  • Aptitude for critical and analytical thinking as well as the capacity to accept out-of-the box solutions

  • Autonomous, positive thinker, highly flexible and willing to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Bachelors degree in related field, MBA desirable

  • Willingness to travel 80% domestically

Position Summary: This position is the primary person responsible for day-to-day project management of 3-6 concurrent engagements. Project management responsibilities include project planning, execution of engagement objectives, daily interaction and communication with client personnel, and performing the initial review of Senior Associate and Associate workpapers. This role requires the ability to supervise teams of 2 - 6 staff members on multiple concurrent engagements to ensure they receive feedback, direction, and resources in the event engagement issues arise. This requires a thorough understanding of the client's industry (i.e. inventory/distribution, oil and gas, financial institutions) or the ability to quickly learn and adapt to an unfamiliar industry. This position should have an advanced understanding of accounting and audit concepts, including internal control theory and internal audit standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Core Competency is the demonstrated ability to carry out the primary responsibilities of the job which should be reflected in the essential duties section of the job description. * Demonstrate the ability to execute the documentation initiatives in all internal control over financial reporting areas using the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) internal control framework. * Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Institute or Internal Audit standards and the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF). * Demonstrate a thorough understanding of technical accounting literature within the GAAP and SEC hierarchies and is able to research issues and provide management with coherent information on non-routine, complex issues. * Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques. * Take ownership of multiple concurrent projects and engagements and be able to independently plan, execute and complete the projects with minimal assistance from more experienced team members. * Lead engagement planning activities which includes gathering information for time budgets, writing test programs, coordinating all planning activities on large engagements with the supervision and guidance from more experienced staff, and designing engagement-specific approach. * Consistent performance of engagement plan in all internal control over financial reporting and financial and/or operational internal audit areas. * Research complex accounting treatment for issues on audit engagements, propose solutions and consult with more experienced staff as necessary. * Work closely with all experienced team members to identify and resolve issues encountered in completing engagement objectives through effective and timely communication. * Demonstrate the ability to plan, perform, and deliver work independently with limited supervision on average-sized to large complex engagements. * Consistently demonstrate initiative and sense of responsibility in ensuring follow through of open items and issues through completion. * Begin to demonstrate the ability to draft a complete and accurate internal audit report which adequately documents the objectives of the audit, procedures, performed, results of procedures, overall conclusion and recommendations for improvements clearly and concisely. * Become involved in billing responsibilities and related issues as requested. * Become involved in firm and service line administrative duties as requested. * Develop extensive knowledge in 1-2 niche areas. * Develop and enhance client relationships through strong communication and project management skills. * Prioritize and manage multiple assignments of varying sizes and complexity within given timeframe and budget. * Monitor and supervise progress of Associates and Senior Associate I's in all engagement phases;
