Position Summary:

The Brand Activation team activates Ocean Spray's brand strategies to drive growth with key retailers. We are a part of the North America Marketing Team, working closely with other areas of Marketing (Platform, Insights, Communications, Innovation), directly with our key retail customers, as well as with key cross-functional partners across the cooperative including Sales, R&D, Finance, and Commercialization.

This position is responsible for both the development and execution of annual, strategic marketing plans that drive profitable growth for a subset of our key retailers. Forming and maintaining productive and collaborative partnerships with key sales counterparts across Ocean Spray is critical to success in this position. The Brand Activation Manager is expected to provide leadership both within the marketing function and across the enterprise for all opportunities and issues impacting the business.

The position is located at our new WeWork Seaport District Office in Boston, MA. Full relocation assistance will be provided.

A Day in the Life of a Brand Activation Manager:

  • Lead development of growth strategies across Drug, Value, Club & Foodservice Channels

  • Partner with sales to develop and execute annual growth plans for key customers, directly tied to overall customer strategies

  • Partner with sales to prepare for and attend critical customer appointments including, but not limited to, line reviews, innovation presentations, and joint business plans

  • Work closely with shopper agency and sales partners to identify, develop, and execute strategic customer-specific marketing programs to drive key brand initiatives

  • Develop and manage relationships with key marketing contacts at customers and agency partners

  • Develop marketing personnel through coaching, appropriate supervision, and feedback

  • Provide cross-functional leadership and direction to translate strategy into tactics and action

  • Lead execution of customer-specific programs, partnerships, activities, and events, gaining all necessary approvals

  • Lead development of point of sale materials to support in-store activation with outside agencies and internal, cross-functional teams

  • Collaborate with Brand, Brand Communications, and Insights to ensure full connectedness of account-level activity with national brand strategies and activities

  • Oversee Brand Activation budget & programs for designated retailer

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA strongly preferred

  • Must have 5+ years of consumer-packaged goods brand management experience. Ideal candidate will have a mix of traditional Brand Management, Shopper Marketing, and/or Sales experience with top domestic retail accounts.

  • Strong analytical skills: quantitative and qualitative

  • Strong creative problem solving and change management abilities

  • Ability to link strategies and objectives to develop a plan

  • Superior presentation skills, both in development of compelling stories and in presenting them at all levels within internal and customer organizations

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Travel ~10%

This position also will support various responsibilities of managing the Ambassador/Specialist program ranging from point of sale delivery, tracking, sales data, recapping, on boarding, finances, social media and scheduling. Activation Responsibilities: * Identify and target 50-75 key on-premise accounts within the local market that strategically fit with target brands in the Commercial Advocacy program * Create relationships with key stakeholders and local trade within account universe * Drive menu placements and features year-round on all brands within portfolio that cater to local market trends and specific accounts * Act as in market liaison between PRUSA brands and trade to generate local influence * In market expert identifying opportunities and expanding the presence of the PRUSA portfolio to strategically adapt brand consumer engagement platform to local market accounts * Identify, produce, and execute with brand POS that fit within the segmented account universe to best represent the PRUSA portfolio * Execute KPI's with target brands in specific accounts that locally identify with each brand * Increase brand visibility based on account level needs * Leverage brand 'consumer engagement platform' in local market and adjusting as needed to best represent the brands within the account universe specifically * Drive recruitment for localized experiential programs for each brand within market * Create opportunities locally to best represent the PRUSA portfolio Sales Responsibilities: * Collaborate with local distributor and PRUSA sales teams to drive sales, in-market account planning, KPI delivery and activation * Drive sales with category-specific trade and consumer programming * Assist in distribution by leveraging account relationships and activation programming * Analyze and maintain local sales data to identify opportunities for specific accounts and brands in/outside of account universe Administrative: * Budget management * Weekly pre-plans * Monthly recaps that identify success in market * Quarterly business review recaps to showcase local market activation * Expense management * Lilypad reporting on a daily basis * Menu placement reporting * Competitive activity reporting * Social media presence Key Contact points (external and internal): * Area Activation Managers * Brand Ambassadors * Local Market Managers * Local Distributor Team Qualifications: * Four-year college degree is preferred. * A minimum of 1-3 years general work experience * Minimum 5 years US Spirits experience * Sales and marketing experience required; distribution and finance experience a plus * Solid team leader * Ability to travel up to 5% Considerations: * Strong voice – able to relay, effectively, information and points of view in a persuasive manner, building consensus across constituencies.
