About The Position

The Manager, Benefits Service Center provides leadership to the Benefits Service Center (BSC) staff in defining, measuring, and maintaining customer service, data quality and integrity goals of a highly functioning organization. Responsible for the supervision of BSC staff through leadership skills that motivate and direct staff toward ensuring customer service principles are applied to all transactional, maintenance, and quality assurance activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop a long-term co-worker experience strategy in alignment with corporate strategic objectives and moments that matter; recommend strategic changes in the delivery model and key components to ensure a valued co-worker experience.

  • Monitor provider service quality; maintain effective vendor delivery by monitoring service levels; analyze, recommend and implement changes for continuous process improvements.

  • Ensure technical plan provisions and processes are communicated accurately, consistently and professionally using written, oral and presentation methods.

  • Provide leadership and support for union contract negotiations regarding benefit program delivery; ensure changes are in alignment with long-term strategies and benefit administrator capabilities.

  • Lead related compliance activities to ensure accurate financial reporting of benefit plan costs and compliance with applicable benefit laws and regulations.

  • Partner closely with the benefit design teams (pension, well-being & healthcare/life), as well as Controllers, Tax, Legal, Digital/IT, and Payroll, among others, to provide expertise on all aspects of benefit operations.

  • Lead the invoice payment process, ensuring efficient operations and accurate payment of benefit expenses to vendors.

  • Provide day-to-day direction and guidance to a team of Employee Benefit professionals.

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of content for employee web sites.

  • Respond to governmental agencies or attorneys regarding benefit plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline such as Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field preferred.

  • 5 or more years of benefit plan experience required.

  • 3 or more years of supervisory and/or project leadership experience with increasing complexity required.

  • Familiarity with all aspects of benefits, including retirement, 401k, healthcare and life insurance (active and retired; union and non-union) preferred.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and HRIS systems required.

  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations related to employee benefits required.

  • Experience with Workday preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills required

Additional Information:

  • The Manager, Benefits Service Center works a hybrid schedule flexing time between a home and office environment.

  • Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
