Role Overview

Collins Aerospace Avionics Concepts, Practices, and Tools (CPT) organization is seeking a Manager with a passion for problem solving and satisfying customers through the delivery of improvements to the global engineering ecosystem that provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development efforts across the enterprise. This position is responsible for leading a cross-functional team to provide a variety of services to product engineering that include training development and delivery, licensing management, and customer support.

CPT is at the forefront of providing state-of-the-art solutions that dramatically increases Collins Aerospace Avionics Engineering producibility and effectiveness. Responsibilities include:

  • Manages a team of primarily intermediate or experienced professionals, with freedom to determine how assignments are completed (e.g., objectives and approaches to completing work)

  • Sets objectives and guides others on execution/approach for achievement of operational results

  • Problems faced are difficult and involve consideration of multiple variables

  • Oversees overall operational performance and success

  • Responsible for the accountability of the workforce in organizational operations

  • Manages individual talent and is responsible for a team of contributors

  • Actively addresses employee performance and development issues

  • Responsible for the development and technical coaching of staff

  • Provides guidance to direct reports within the latitude of established departmental policies and objectives

  • Responsible for onboarding and assimilation of new hires

  • Interfaces with external agencies, internal customers, tool vendors, and partner organizations within the company to ensure effective two-way communication of needs and results


  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

  • US Citizenship is required.

  • Proven execution experience leading application support or related teams of moderate size

  • Experience in service models and analysis of customer service data
