Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Nine (9) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Department Statement

The International Students and Scholars Center is one of several departments comprising the Division of Academic Enterprise Enrollment which utilizes a variety of strategies to enroll and support a diverse student population representative of Arizona State University's vision. The International Students and Scholars Center is comprised of a staff of trained experts, versed in the details and requirements of academic and employment-based programs, who provide visa and immigration advice and support to visiting students and scholars. These services include oversight of visa programs, planning and coordinating orientations for the international students and assisting with visa and immigration for new students, staff and scholars.

Essential Duties

  • Support the ISSC F-1 student advising team on immigration matters for F-1 students at all ASU campus locations.

  • Lead assigned staff members in developing and implementing advising practices and improved workflow for SEVIS transactions and immigration document processing.

  • Provide training and support to advising team on office procedures, immigration regulations, and institutional policies.

  • Oversee the maintenance of student files to ensure accurate record keeping and maintaining consistency of PeopleSoft, Sunapsis, and SEVIS records.

  • Interface with Department of Homeland Security including Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), along with various units of Department of State and work with other DSO's to ensure consistent protocol regarding policies and procedures.

  • Provide leadership and/or support in the SEVIS Compliance audit projects throughout the semester including SEVIS/Sunapsis alerts, enrollment, new student reporting and immigration compliance audits.

  • Develop checklists and procedures for SEVIS processes using Sunapsis database.

  • Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) for Arizona State University.

  • Work closely and collaboratively with Director to identify, develop and implement annual ISSC goals and objectives; participates in communication and monitoring of activities to ensure achievement.

  • Coordinate with other Managers in office in overseeing advising processes relevant to their teams.

  • As requested/required, assist ISSC leadership with special projects and other assigned duties.

Salary Range

$50,000-$55,000 per year; DOE
