The Cash Product Office (CPO) is responsible for the strategic direction and national support for Federal Reserve Cash Services (FedCash Services). The CPO provides operational guidance and technology strategies for U.S. currency and coin, supplied to depository institutions by the twelve Federal Reserve Banks. National Cash Automation (NCA) is the CPO's software development and support team. NCA is responsible for maintaining and improving the Federal Reserve System's cash operations suite of automation solutions. The role of the Application Product Management team is to work with customers (internal and external) to understand, articulate, and prioritize functional improvements to NCA's systems and services, and to collaborate with our partners to deliver and communicate business value.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will use customer engagement and design thinking skills as well as staff development and management skills to lead your team of experienced Product Managers in delivering business value through improvements to our FedCash software suite. You will also build relationships with end-users, project and portfolio support partners, and application development teams to encourage strong collaboration and deliver business value.

  • You will lead the product management team in updating/maintaining the long-term vision for the FedCash Suite, developing and implementing the customer engagement and research strategy, measuring product adoption and effectiveness and leading product related communications

  • You will lead and handle process improvement and experimentation, innovation efforts related to the FedCash application suite.

  • You will hire, coach, mentor and develop staff, including developing individualized development plans so that staff skills remain relevant and consistent with Bank standards and standard methodologies in the product management discipline.

  • You will lead staff assignments to ensure that product areas are appropriately resourced and aligned with CPO's strategic goals and objectives.

  • Provide periodic briefings for the FedCash Services product director, product manager and business line CIO, as well as key partners and governance bodies.

  • Lead or participate in Federal Reserve System workgroups.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience.

  • Five or more years of project or program management experience

  • Working knowledge of Agile development

  • At Manager II level, requires five or more years of experience managing people or leading teams, at Manager III level, requires seven or more years of experience managing people or leading teams.

  • Strong people management and development skills, including the ability to provide candid constructive feedback to team members with a focus on individual and team development.

  • Experience in leading teams in a virtual, multi-location, or matrixed, organization.

  • Understanding of industry standard methodologies.

  • Excellent interpersonal, emotional intelligence, collaboration and consensus building skills.

  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and customer research skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent presentation abilities, significant experience representing positions and perspectives to internal and external audiences.

  • Confirmed ability to develop informal and formal business relationships across all levels of an organization, including executive management.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Helpful, but not required:

  • Advanced degree

  • Experience with design thinking

  • Industry certifications in product or project management:

SAFEe (Scaled Agile Framework) training or certification:

  • PMP

  • PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Professional)

  • Scrum Alliance (Certified Scrum Master/Certified Scrum Product Owner/Certified Scrum Developer)

  • Scrum Alliance (Certified Scrum Professional)

  • Agile Scrum Master

Physical Demands and General Working Conditions

Employees typically sit most of the day, work with a computer and may answer/respond to phone calls. Physical movement consists of walking for meetings, breaks, etc. Ability to lift items weighing approximately 20 pounds on a limited basis is required. Employees may be required to travel by car/air.

As our Product Manager, you will be responsible for following the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to develop and lead the execution of the product vision for one or more aspects of the FedCash Suite of applications. Product areas may include one or more of: external DI functionality via FedLine Cash, internal operational functionality related to our NextGen equipment program, external API product development, new product innovations, and all other aspects of our product suite. Your role will included conducting customer research, ensuring business EPICs are written that reflect the product vision and working closely with colleagues in the CPO, application development, marketing, communications, and support to ensure business and customer satisfaction goals are met. Helping set the future of Cash, you will assist with the creation of a product roadmap and drive cross-functional teams towards execution against that product roadmap and provide other support to the product management team, as needed.
