Job Overview:

The Annuity Manager co-manages the Annuity Order Entry Trade Desk, and reports to our Vice President of Trading. The Annuity Order Entry Trade Desk is comprised of over 30 individuals who are supporting inbound phone calls from our advisors regarding placement of Annuity transactions through our Annuity Order Entry System.

In addition, the team supports various initiatives across the industry and within LPL to continuously improve and expand our Annuity offering. This includes representing LPL with Carrier Partners and industry contacts, implementing and identifying needed improvements to our processing and interfaces, creating and delivering training content for our advisors, and facilitating testing to support onboarding of new products and capabilities. As a manager, you are leading the team through these items, developing talent within the organization, and establishing team level goals, and collaborating across LPL to deliver an industry leading experience in the Annuity space.

Responsibilities:

  • People Management: You will co-manage the Annuity Order Entry staff which includes all aspects of managing people: hiring, performance management and goal setting, setting daily and weekly team priorities, and developing talent. Create performance plans, coach employees for improved performance, identify developmental needs and opportunities, recognize staff contributions, motivate employees, ensure clear and consistent communications up and down the organization and complete performance and pay reviews.

  • Advisor Support: Lead the team in delivering world class service that delights our advisors.

    Manage and monitor daily workflow to ensure SLAs are met. Coach team members on service delivery. Act as a point of escalation for advisor issues. Lead team in consultative training approach to help advisors gain further value from our annuity platform and capabilities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead the team through continuously improving our annuity experience.

    This includes compiling and analyzing call, transaction and NIGO trends to identify areas of opportunity. Participating in identifying, supporting and implementing system and process initiates that improve the annuity experience and expand our capabilities. Provide thought leadership and support to the project request process for the Annuity desk.

    Actively manage system defects, create suitable workarounds and ensure system issues are reported tracked and fixed in a timely manner. Review process workflow for purpose of increasing efficiencies and identifying potential areas for improvement (i.e. ease of doing business).

  • Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, anticipate - as well as adapt - to regulatory changes. Be able to identify how these regulatory changes will impact Annuity Order Entry desk, and identify needed updates to processes and systems to adapt to regulatory requirements, actively review procedures, identify areas of risk and ensure proper controls are in place to mitigate risk.

  • Annuity Expertise: The Annuity Manager must have or be willing to quickly acquire a high level of knowledge regarding products supported by the Annuity Order Entry desk, industry standards and industry regulations.

    Maintain relationships with management of other internal business units, software vendors and annuity carriers. Maintain high-level knowledge of LPL processes and system platforms as they relate to Annuity purchases, corrections and operations. Represent the Trading department in project meetings and initiatives that either directly or indirectly impact the Annuity area.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience

  • 2+ years in financial services

  • Licenses/Certifications: Series 99 required or must obtain within 90 days.

Preferences:

  • Previous management experience preferred.

  • Series 7, 24, 63/65 or 66 preferred.

  • Software/Systems Skills Required/Preferred: MS Office, BETA, ClientWorks, ServiceWorks, Nice, Documentum, Electronic Order Entry

  • Bachelor's degree

Pay Range:

$67,200-$100,800/year

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
