Position Summary:

The Nurse Manager has oversight of PACU, ACC, and Endoscopy. The Nurse Manager has the direct-line responsibilityfor day to day operations and overall responsibility for the nursingdepartment, insuring that employees have effective management, goodcommunication and appropriate discipline.

The Nurse Manager is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the coordinationof patient care, administrative and nursing activities. The Nurse Manager is also responsible on a 24hours basis for the quality of nursing care provided to patient. The Nurse Manager is responsible for theimplementation and evaluation of all nursing care and related activities.

Jobmay include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the areasupervisor. Employee must have the samelicensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements ofthe discipline of the student. Directsupervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the studentthroughout the shift.

Position Requirements:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Current license as a registered Nurse to practice in the State of South Carolina.
  • BLS Healthcare provider on hire (American Heart Association

Education:

  • Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing

Experience:

  • Recent experience in Perioperative Nursing, with at least two years of experience in a nursing leadership position preferred.

  • Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities.

  • Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient/internal & external customer

Special qualifications:

Effective communication skills; both orally and written, with flexible interpersonal skills to facilitate the exchange of information within all levels of the organization. Ability to effectively read, write and speak fluent English.

Computer skills needed. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong organizational and problem solving skills. Creative and innovative skills in personnel management and ability to facilitate growth and development of department and staff.

Degree of Supervision Required:

Involves general guidance and direction by Department Director. The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience. Read below for more requirements. As a CVOR RN, you'll be responsible for providing professional CVOR care services to support a team of physicians, RNs and other medical staff. Our CVOR Travel Nurses demonstrate advanced clinical expertise in circulating and scrubbing for a variety of cardiothoracic surgical procedures and other complex surgeries. As a CVOR Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks: * Assess, plan and evaluate the nursing care needs of the patient before, during and after a surgical procedure. * Participate in the care of patients receiving conscious sedation. * Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, monitor vital signs. * Assist physician during procedures. * Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. * Coordinate the operating room with respect to sterility, cleanliness, availability of functioning equipment and supplies. * Ensure the proper handling of specimens. CVOR Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. RNs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times. Because of the fast-paced environment, Cardiovascular OR RNs must possess good skills for coping with stress and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
