Description:

The Manager of Ambulatory Surgery Center is responsible for managing staff, operations, budgets, patient access and satisfaction of patients, physicians and staff at multiple sites. They assess current physician practices and daily operations identifying areas for improvement by working with Division and Healthcare System leadership. They develop plans to expand services and market share, enhance quality, improve clinical and technical operations, and increase patient, staff, and physician satisfaction. They monitor financial performance to meet/exceed budgeted targets.

Job responsibilities:

QUALITY:

In collaboration with senior management and/or clinical leadership, assists in establishing standard implementation of system initiatives to support organizational patient care goals. Acts as a department liaison to Physician Leadership. Creates and manages processes which contribute to continuous performance improvement.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:

Develops annual budget to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support operations and meet department and/or organizational goals. Manages operational budget including revenue, expenses, staff levels and capital equipment sufficient to meet current and projected patient volume or service requirements.

ORGANIZING RESOURCES:

Implements systems and functions to achieve organizational objectives and maximize quality of care and high patient satisfaction, and/or efficient operations. Recruits, interviews and selects staff in collaboration with Human Resources and ensures that staffing guidelines/standards are maintained in accordance with patient care and/or departmental requirements.

TEAM BUILDING:

Fosters positive team collaboration and staff development to facilitate efficient operations, employee engagement and achievement of patient quality, safety, satisfaction goals. Oversees human resource functions including recruitment, training and performance management to maintain the highest quality workforce.

COMMUNICATION:

Provides effective communication to administration, faculty, management and staff to establish understanding of the organization mission and strategic goals necessary to achieve operational goals. Actively participates in regularly scheduled operational meetings with senior leadership, other departments and direct reports to facilitate communication, goal setting and decision making.

DIRECTING:

With leadership, participates in establishing standards for quality, safety and service. Coordinates, assesses, and approves special projects. Develops staff and management to use abilities and talents to accomplish goals.

What's required:

  • Master's degree in nursing - MSN or MBA, Doctorate preferred.
  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience, 6-10 years preferred.
  • CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room)
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
  • Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician
