A highly visible and crucial role, the digital marketing director will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and managing the overall digital marketing strategy. Additionally the director will be responsible for organizing, managing, guiding and inspiring digital marketers on the team. She/he will serve as the business's subject matter expert, partnering with other areas to help them understand digital best practices such as search engine optimization. Oversee a 12-15 months large .com website expansion and redesign project SEO, SEM, personalization, analytics, 3rd party data and platforms (Marketo, Salesforce, digital channels, etc.), UX, data visualization, and interactive tools. Lead project team comprised of the following resources: external agency, internal IT, marketing subject matter experts, stakeholders and project managers.
Help define and manage ongoing continued website improvements to stay ahead of the competition
Defining a roadmap for digital success, aka a marketing digital ecosystem, identifying and implementing initiatives that will be impactful to drive business results both in the short- and long-term.
Inspire and manage a team of digital marketers (currently 5 team members). Prioritize, schedule, assign, and track digital projects from inception through completion to ensure effective planning, timeline/budget management, and high-quality deliverables
Demonstrate proficiency as a digital thought leader with a data driven approach; identifying digital marketing trends, new technologies, evolving best practices and competitor activity that help drive the business
Effectively influence business line leaders and champion new technology concept adoption throughout the firm
Operate with a self-directed motivation without the need for continual supervision
Consult with leadership and gravitas in order to effectively achieve buy-in to strategic digital strategy vision
Partner with other internal groups (IT, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Sales, Portfolio Management) and with external vendors to deliver a world-class digital experience
Integrate marketing systems to enable a holistic voice of the client
Keep current with the latest digital marketing tools, technology and best practices
Work with IT to outline the business requirements to inform an evolving marketing stack
Manage and oversee different digital marketing channels including social media and mobile
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness and implementing the tools needed to support marketing activities
Collaborate and influence across lines of business at multiple levels, as well as be able to counsel partners with the ability to connect dots across various and sometimes competing/ambiguous challenges
Define and manage digital marketing budget
Measure and manage online content
Partner with other marketing colleagues to help identify digital marketing opportunities and implement the digital solutions that produce results
Maintain strict adherence to regulatory and risk guidelines for all digital marketing initiatives, including proactive management of marketing operational risk. A keen appreciation of the investment management regulatory environment and a focus on risk are key aspects of this role
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of managing a digital marketing strategy and team
Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
Ability to effectively communicate appropriately and concisely
Proven track record of successfully developing and executing digital marketing strategies and tactics that led to meaningful business impact
Demonstrated and successful experience in overseeing large.com projects managing vendors/agency, developing requirements, measuring results
Experience with collecting, maintaining and deploying site enhancements
Experience in launching numerous types of digital experiences to production.
Experience leading digital strategy and digital transformation for a major organization
Comprehensive understanding of Web design best practices.
Extensive experience with personalization. This includes building a personalization strategy, onboarding a personalization tool, training as well as executing on the personalization strategy
Marketing automation experience entails hands on experience, lead scoring, sales insight, ideally using Marketo.
Advanced SEO knowledge
Experience in helping to define, measure, and analyze ROI and KPIs turning them into understandable, actionable insights
Ability to communicate effectively with IT and developers -- translating business requirements into actionable plans
Understanding of web performance principles (analysis, audit, execution)
Experience with enterprise level Content management systems, onboarding and training. Solid understanding of visual design and user experience principles
Experience with mentoring and developing team members of varying skill set and maturity levels.
Comfortable with a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Experienced working with agile and waterfall approaches
Keen ability to understand the "big picture" and develop initiatives to achieve overarching goals
Exceptional understanding of all aspects of digital marketing channels
