Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems located in Melbourne, FL has an immediate opening for a Manager of Airworthiness Engineering to work on an exciting new program. Candidates will have experience in one or more of the following MH-516 sections: Hydraulics, ECS, Landing Gear, Aerial Refueling, Aux Power, Electrical Systems and Electrical Wiring.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline with 7 years of Aerospace and/or DOD and/or Civil Experience
Work experience on manned or unmanned aircraft systems, with an assignment working Airworthiness (Military or Civil)
Must have leadership experience
Active In Scope Secret Clearance, Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret
Strategic Planning experience
2 or more years Program Management experience
Earned Value and Cost Account Management Experience
Leading process improvement initiatives
Managing, mentoring and leading teams of engineers
Aircraft development program experience
Public or civil certification experience
Experience working with government regulators and airworthiness authorities
Significant direct customer interaction
DoD and Civil Airworthiness Experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to work under general direction
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word and SharePoint
Military aircraft development or modification experience
Ability to initiate Airworthiness Certification process improvement initiatives
Design and Systems Engineering experience in one or more of the following areas: Structures, Flight Technology, Air Vehicle Subsystems, Avionics, Mission Payload Integration, System Safety, Flight Test
Familiarity of MIL-HDBK-516B Expanded and -516C
Experience with one or more of the following: MIL-STDs-1797, 810, 1530, 3013, 882E, 1796
USAF Airworthiness Policy Directives, Instructions, and Airworthiness Bulletins (AWB)
System Safety Risk Assessments (SSRA), program risks and hazard analyses
