Responsibilities

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

  • Proactively assist in preparing project design and specifications to ensure that all Bag systems meet the Planning Guidelines and Design Standards (PGDS). Work closely with Corporate Facilities Project Management, SWA Federal Airport Security Team and Airport Operations throughout the installation of all screening equipment and Bag systems that may affect Southwest Airlines operations. Oversee and manage projects and contracts relating to baggage handling equipment to insure design, cost, maintenance, and operational criteria is met. Manage contracted service provider performance related to BHS and loading bridge maintenance, and approve first line payment requested from project contractors. Identify capacity limitations and work to proactively reduce the risk to our operation.

  • Develop a good working relationship and act as a liaison between the screening equipment manufacturers, local TSA Leadership and Station Management

  • Work with system designers to gain insights and alternatives to improve the performance and cost-effectiveness of our Checkpoint, Bag handling systems and T-point operations.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years' construction/repair experience with conveyor systems and related equipment, OR conveyor maintenance programs, managing operations and maintenance contracts for outside vendors preferred

  • Experience with Integrated Baggage Handling System Design preferred

  • Experience with TSA regulatory compliance or Airport Screening process preferred

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to lift and/or move 75 pounds or more on a regular basis.

  • Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop on a regular basis.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

  • Must be able to read and understand electrical schematic drawings and troubleshoot BHS control systems.

  • Must have knowledge of applicable construction and repair fundamentals, including electrical and mechanical repair gained through trade school courses, training programs, or on-the-job experience.

  • Must have strong leadership skills to direct maximum performance from outside contractors, and maintain working relationships with internal Customers.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to provide direction in a Team-oriented environment.

  • Must have good organizational and time management skills.

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Frequent travel required, two to three days per week.

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.

The Business Operations Manager will have the following responsibilities: * Provide industry best practices for project management; * Provide oversight for day-to-day operations; * Oversee the planning, execution, control and operations of Task Orders; * Support activities and tasks which include maintenance, installations, relocations, refreshments, expansions, and asset management (software and hardware); * The Project Manager shall perform project management, scheduling, performance, activities initiated through a Task Order. * Provide delivery, scheduling, coordination, and progress reporting associated with Task Orders; * Ensure accountability and accuracy for all Client activities and tasks; * Work cooperatively with Client's components that are related to the contract; * Develop and maintain a Task Order plan for each Task Order received; * Provide "lessons learned" documentation at the close out of each Client Task Order; * Develop, document and maintain consistent operating procedures for project management of Client Task Orders; * Responsible for the utilization of Support Desk tools and for all Service Desk tools reporting to the Client; * Responsible for accuracy of Client-owned databases (e.g. asset management system or EDL); * Maintain an ongoing, comprehensive inventory listing of all asset information acquired under the Contract; * Maintain an accurate accounting of the asset inventory that reflects all items invoiced to the Client; * Responsible for producing monthly data in electronic format to the Client, to support reconciliation efforts of all hardware, software inclusive of endpoints and core systems; * Validate assets and update any discrepancies in the Client's asset management system; * Attend weekly status meetings with the Program Manager and Client; * Perform annual audits at the Client headquarters locations; Project Manager Qualifications: Based on the Project Manager's range of responsibilities for the project management, job performance will demand a high-level of proficiency, competency, and coordination to be successful. The Business Operations Manager's qualifications at a minimum shall be: * Minimum of three years' experience working on contracts of this size, or at a minimum, a 2-year associate degree in a directly related field; * All candidates shall have experience directly related to the contract requirements; * Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP) or at least 3 years' experience in asset management; * Minimum of 2 years' experience in training and development of training materials National Capitol Contracting Baltimore MD
