Oversee all Accounts Payable functionsincluding management of AP Supervisor and Vendor Compliance Tech
Responsible for Sarbanes Oxley departmentalcompliance by ensuring that identified key control procedures are implemented,performed and properly documented for testing
Responsible for yearly 1099 process;quarterly review of vendor accounts to ensure 1099 transaction types areaccurate and in compliance with tax guidelines
Oversee all aspects of work flow associatedwith processing payables
Direct the monthly closing process foraccounts payable in a disciplined and timely manner
Monitor productivity of Accounts Payable departmentand communicate staffing needs to management
Recommend/implement process changes to createefficiencies for the Accounts Payable department
Oversee the vendor setup/maintenance processincluding communicating company policy to employees (department responsible forproviding approved vendor list)
Review work submitted by Vendor ComplianceTech
Work with the legal department as needed relatedto vendor accounts
Prepare reports as requested by management
Monitor Accounts Payable sub-ledger
Supervise assigned staff, direct their dailyactivities and perform periodic evaluations of their performance
Other responsibilities and reporting asassigned by management
Four year degree (BBA or BS)
Strong working knowledge of accounts payable andgeneral accounting principles.
Ability to operate both independently and as partof a team.
Ability to effectively communicate information to(especially via email and phone) and work with all levels of the organization.
Ability to suggest and implement processimprovements to increase effectiveness of Accounts Payable process.
Excellent organizational and time managementskills.
Self-motivated, with ability to work with minimalinstruction.
Intermediate to advanced skills for MicrosoftOffice (i.e. Excel, Work, PowerPoint, Outlook), Accounting Software (SSI), APWorkflow (Spendworks/Oildex)
