Job Summary: Provides financial and statistical information to management, staff, and external customers in compliance with internal and external requirements by managing, monitoring, and accessing the organizations financial and other systems and analyzing and verifying the inputs and outputs to those systems.
Maintains financial records and systems in accordance with GAAP, Hospital policies, and the Healthcare Audit Guide. Responsible for Audit support and accuracy in areas of oversight/responsibility. Directly supervises work of accounting staff members as assigned including Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant level and Accounting Clerical staff.
Key resource for Finance management to assist with special projects and assignments. Promotes teamwork atmosphere within Finance department and maintains high degree of customer service orientation. Proactive interaction with all Finance staff # managers.
Highly communicative modeling emotionally intelligent behavior.
Bachelor#s Degree in Accounting or Business/Finance with concentration in Accounting.
Work requires analytical ability to identify and resolve problems that require the use of mathematical, statistical, and financial principles acquired through a minimum of 5 years of work experience as an accountant with minimum 2 years as a senior accountant level. Work requires the ability to understand the interrelationships between the financial systems and the various other systems and inputs that impact the financial systems. This ability normally is acquired through computer education and work experience in a computerized environment.
Work requires professional demeanor, appearance and attitude with a high orientation toward meeting customer requirements in a friendly, courteous manner. Must function cooperatively as part of the finance team and exhibit flexibility in response to changing demands and priorities. Work requires excellent written and oral communication skills with a need for communications to be complete, concise, and understandable to a multitude of potential audiences, which can vary from senior management to department managers, and other finance and non-finance staff.
Work requires ability to effectively manage Staff Accountants and Accounting Clerical Staff, working with staff in developing priorities, managing work schedules and conflicts, measuring and communicating individual and team performance, development of goals and improvement objectives and evaluating and improving work processes. Ability to supervise and assist staff in these areas while also effectively managing own work and priorities.
