The PCAOB oversees the audits of public companies and SEC-registered brokers and dealers in order to protect investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate, and independent audit reports.
Job Description Summary
The PCAOB has a full-time, regular position for a Manager, Accountant in the Division of Enforcement and Investigations at its New York, NY regional office or Washington, DC headquarters office. This position requires a proactive person that thrives in a multi-faceted professional environment.
Planning, organizing, and conducting investigations that may involve possible violations of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, the rules of the PCAOB, the provisions of the securities laws relating to the preparation and issuance of audit reports and the obligations and liabilities of accountants with respect thereto, including the rules of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission issued under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, or professional standards;
Reviewing and analyzing audit working papers and related correspondence, corporate books and records, and other financial and accounting documents;
Conducting interviews and testimony;
Identifying accounting, auditing, and financial reporting deficiencies;
Making recommendations to division leadership relating to possible enforcement actions; and
Attending and assisting attorneys in administrative hearings before hearing officer or the Board.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; MBA/Master's degree a plus;
Current CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license required;
Minimum of 7+ years of progressively responsible experience with a public accounting firm in the audit of publicly traded companies with a minimum of 2 years at the manager level;
Proficient in the application of accounting and auditing guidance including PCAOB standards, GAAP, and federal securities regulations related to the issuance of audited financial statements;
Forensic or investigative experience a plus;
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team;
Strong technical abilities and verbal and written communications skills;
Ability to travel some.
