POLITICO seeks an experienced Manager of Account Management with a passion for people management and partnership with sales to join our dynamic and growing Audience Solutions team. You will leverage a deep understanding of the Account Manager role to management direct reports and partner across the team. You will be responsible for account management team wide initiatives, standard operating procedures and ensure the team is properly supporting business development to meet revenue goals.
What you'll do:
Direct Management: Responsible for direct day-to-day management of account management team including defining role responsibilities, cross-team collaboration, workflows, and career + skill development.
Account Management Team Initiatives and Overall Strategy: Owns weekly account management and PACE team-wide meeting to review and set expectations for overall strategy, team updates, initiatives, best practices, standard operating procedures, and collaboration.
Staffing and Performance Management: Focus on ensuring account management engagement and motivation remains high. Responsible for addressing and course correcting performance or staff issues.
Onboarding and training: Work closely with the Audience Solutions hiring managers to craft custom onboardings for each position. Responsible for the successful onboarding of all new Audience Solutions team members. Run multiple onboarding modules for each group of new hires.
Cross Team Support: Conducts monthly 1-on-1 meetings with business development team members who works closely with account management to ensure both parties are on the same page regarding their account manager(s) performance, skill development, feedback and performance management.
Standard Operating Procedures: Work with revenue operations, business development, PACE and other cross department units to ensure account management team is following and leveraging team wide standard operating procedures. Represent and propose Account Manager workflow integrations in all systems and be the main point of contact with Revenue Operations team.
Interviewing: Lead the hiring process for account management in order to hire quality talent for the account management team. Participate in hiring process for other roles across Audience Solutions as needed.
What You'll Need
BA/BS degree required
3+ years of experience in sales, digital advertising or marketing
1+ years of team management experience for employees in the Associate level
excellent oral and written communication skills to be used in presentations and written memos
Experience working across multiple teams
Experience with Keynote, Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint to be used in presentations and written memos
Digital media planning experience a plus
