Job Summary: Manages billing processes and maintains proper collection practices of patient accounts.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business or Healthcare related field strongly preferred.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to perform and interpret automated word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Collects on accounts based on contractually agreed upon rates while optimizing and maintaining proper collection practices.
Manages the Appeals process and works closely with Managed Care Department to ensure payor compliance. Initiates relationships with payors to discuss claim and payment issues. Ensures that all federal and state billing guidelines are properly followed implements all new billing criterias established by CMS, OHCA and commercial payors.
Manages the posting unit for the Central Business Office. Maintains all cash posting functions and ensures daily posting accuracy is applied to all accounts within our Host system and that the posting are matching our daily deposits. Settlements and self pay liaison for outside vendors.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in making decisions involving non-routine problems under general supervision.
Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers.
Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
