Professional Engineer Managers plan, coordinate and oversee projects, programs and consultant contracts/agreements and perform licensed professional engineering functions.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is located within the Materials Engineer in pavement, this position supervises the pavement design and structural/chemical branches of the Materials Division. This includes the concrete lab, the chemical lab, the pavement analysis section, the roadbed section, and the concrete operation section.
Duties include review of concrete mix and the structural design coordination with Resident Engineers and the Construction Division, review and implementation of specification changes and represent the Division on the 3R committee which establishes statewide projects. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and two years of experience performing professional engineering work in a supervisory or responsible project charge capacity; OR one year of experience as a Supervisor, Professional Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and two years of experience as a Staff II or Supervisor II, Associate Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Notes A person that is a licensed Professional Engineer in another state must become licensed as a Professional Engineer in Nevada within six months of appointment as a condition of continuing employment.Special Requirements Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of employment and as a condition of continuing employment.
