The Management Trainee position's primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, "to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests." Additionally, Management Trainees perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Work directly with Store Manager to develop sales, recruiting and leadership skills in order to become a Store Manager. The Management Trainee will also share responsibility for training and motivating Teammates and act as the Store Manager in their absence. The Management Trainee position is an advanced leadership position and therefore includes additional high level duties that are specific to that position, though the majority of job duties and responsibilities are shared.

Sales Generation and Guest Service

Greets Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and is consistently prepared to provide legendary service to each Guest.

Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development

Develop skills and assist in leading, directing, motivating and educating new Teammates to meet and achieve Buckle's accountability, shift orientation, loss prevention and sales presentation standards on a daily basis.

Visual Merchandise Management

Develop skills and educate Teammates to implement, evaluate and create visual displays based on Buckle guidelines.

Operations

Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, the day of/day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, all based upon store and business needs.

Set goals and expectations to complete an extensive Management Trainee Program with weekly topics, assignments, and reviews.

Establish relationships and excellent communication with Area Managers, District Manager and Corporate Office to assist Store Manager in effective operation of the store.

Supervisory and Leadership

Support Store Manager by planning and leading the Team, daily reviewing with Teammates and participation in Team meetings.

Ability to travel and cover other Stores within District based on business needs.

Teammate Classifications

Full-time Teammates are those regularly scheduled to work 35 or more hours per week and are actively engaged in the business for a minimum of five (5) days per week on a regularly scheduled basis. Full-time Teammates may be eligible to participate in Buckle's full-time benefit programs. Many of the programs have a waiting period before the benefits become active.

In a Trainee role, you will learn all aspects of our growing business from understanding the numerous positions at each facility to how our facilities operate and generate revenue. As a Trainee, you will gain exposure to CGB and its subsidiaries and you will become a decision maker that directly impacts our customers and our business. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, building relationships, managing others, and helping grow our revenue. This role may participate in farm visits, projects to enhance efficiencies, and have direct input that impacts profitability. Additionally, this role will be trained and mentored by our current team members who are experienced, knowledgeable and successful. This job is primarily responsible for training to assume a management role (i.e. Superintendent or Operations Manager) to maintain the maintenance and operations of a facility while maintaining the safety and well-being of employees. The most important responsibility is guarding employee safety. This role will learn and utilize leadership skills and assume responsibility to ensure the facility operates in an efficient and profitable manner while facing different and new challenges every day. The job has direct input on personnel issues, financial decisions, construction projects and proposals, as well as the daily operations of the facility. In this job, you will: * Manage the company's safety initiative: work with management and assumes authority to lead, direct, communicate, and enforce the company's safety program at assigned facility/facilities. * Manage the facility operation for efficiency and profitability; this will include learning how to independently plan staff daily work. * Lead the elevator employees to accomplish the work at hand and improve the facility; this may include job duties such as working with employees to coach and manage them to complete necessary tasks, assisting in planning the incoming/outgoing commodities for storage, loading, etc., or monitoring the commodity for quality issues. * Provide recommendations for facility and equipment repairs and construction projects. * Work with management on staffing activities and provide input and/or take action on such issues (hiring, staffing/scheduling, training, employee performance management, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, etc.). * Depending on business needs, may rotate through various departments at a facility or facilities. * Other duties as assigned. Here's what you'll need to be considered: Education Required - Bachelor's degree in related field. Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or Technical Systems Management.
