Job Description
Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the Management Intern provides career readiness support to
international students. This position will primarily focus on providing on-ground career & internship
development support by connecting regularly with international student leadership and affiliate organizations,
conducting presentations and trainings, and aiding in the facilitation of career-related events.
Additionally, the Management Intern will support initiatives connecting employers to international student
talent and manage various forms of data and reporting related to international student career development
and success at the University.
The ideal candidate has exemplary communication skills, has the ability to work independently as well as
collaboratively, is prompt with their follow-through; takes initiative; has proven leadership skills; has high
attention to detail; Is proficient in technology; is effective meeting with people on a one-to-one basis; has
strong group presentation skills; has experience collaborating across various disciplines/departments; and is
committed to fostering an inclusive environment.
This position will work primarily out of the Tempe location, but will also travel to and work at other Career Services
offices located at the Downtown Phoenix, Polytechnic, and West campuses. This Internship program is a short term-position of a 12-month experience or less. An additional one-year extension may be offered contingent upon an annual review. Candidate is required to be enrolled in a Graduate Program during the duration of employment and continuation of employment will be based on enrollment in a Graduate Program.

Working Environment
Adhering to Career Services office dress code.
Lifting and carrying materials, as well as, pulling and pushing carts of up to 30 lbs.

Essential Duties
Direct Student Support
Serves as the student liaison from Career Services to the International Student and Scholars Center (ISSC)
Assists with preparation and delivery of Global Career Initiatives trainings with the Coalition of International Students and International Student Engagement
Meets with international student leadership including The Coalition of International Students, Council of Presidents, and other student organizations to determine specific career & internship development needs of the groups they represent
Engages with students and club advisors on a regular basis in a virtual setting such as hosting webinars, conducting virtual 1:1 advising, and online chats
In both 1:1, as well as small group settings, advises students regarding their interests, values, skills and qualifications related to career decision making, including opportunities in the United States, in a student's home country, or in a third country of interest
Advises students on writing resumes, preparing job & internship search materials, developing a professional online presence and developing interview skills
Provides guidance to undergraduate student staff in supporting career readiness efforts for the global student body
Events, Programming, Special Projects
Under direction of the Associate Director, helps to develop, plan and implement various special projects related to, but not limited to, engaging the global student body in Career Interest Communities, ASU Mentor Network, Handshake, and other career development platforms.
Designs and delivers a variety of career and professional development presentations/workshops/panels/events, based on specific career and professional development needs of each requesting organization
Supports efforts to connect with employers who regularly hire international student talent and promote their opportunities to potential applicants
Assists in providing education to employers on the benefits and mechanisms for hiring international student talent
Regularly solicits feedback from the international student community, parents, and other stakeholders to help guide program developments
Administrative
Regularly records and reports on data related to international student appointments, event participation, and student engagement
Prepares presentations, materials and programs promoting Career Services resources
Meets regularly with professional staff who oversee international student engagement to update them on current needs/trends, as well as, collaborate on future projects
Participates in regular staff meetings; either in-person or virtually
