WHAT IS THE SMALL BUSINESS/SELF EMPLOYED (SB/SE) DIVISION: The Small Business/Self-Employed (SB/SE) Division provides examinations and taxpayer education services for about 7 million small businesses and upwards of 33 millions self-employed and supplemental income taxpayers. SB/SE taxpayers generally have higher incomes than most taxpayers, need to file twice as many tax forms, and generally need to rely more on paid tax preparers and the taxpayer education outreach activities of the IRS.

WHAT DOES A MANAGEMENT PROGRAM ANALYST DO? They are responsible for analytical studies and projects relating to substantive, complex mission-oriented programs, systems and issues with impact on multiple IRS locations and organizations. They coordinate project impact with affected employees and managers within the Service. They conduct in-depth analyses of project data, requirements and impact and identify problem areas and determine resolutions.

As a Management and Program Analyst, you will:

  • Meet with managers and executives within the Service to define the overall goals and objectives of the organization, including hiring initiatives.

  • Prepare complex action plans and schedules for various phases of project accomplishment, both short and long-range; ensures that plans are consistent with Service goals, schedules, and policies.

  • Prepare recommendations for resource requirements to accomplish workforce needs of the organization; negotiates with managers of various components of the Service to obtain needed resources and support.

  • Plan, coordinate and establish operating methods and procedures for accomplishment of project mission; as needed, directs the development and accomplishment of employee training relating to the project.

  • Establish a system to review, control, and report on project status including hiring initiatives; Monitors project status and adjusts work plans for project accomplishment.

  • Prepare, formulate, and/or manage budget/financial resources specific to, or in addition to, assigned program(s) and/or project(s).

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of project data, requirements, and impact; identify problem areas and determine how to resolve them.

  • Prepare agency directives, IRM issuances, memoranda, service-wide policy statements, and other written guidelines and recommendations relating to the project.

  • Conduct briefings and prepare comprehensive reports, spreadsheets and PowerPoints to keep managers and executives advised of project plans and progress and to communicate findings and recommendations.

GS-13 LEVEL: You must have 1 year specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience using of a wide range of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques, both qualitative and quantitative; management and organizational principles to apply to programs, projects and studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and means to improve them. Experience with project management and organizational processes to evaluate projects and studies and to identify problem areas, trends, deficiencies, or other similar factors affecting operations. Experience with oral communication techniques to present findings, deliver briefings, and negotiate solutions to disputed recommendations.

  • The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Jackson Hewitt is seeking an IT Compliance Analyst who will manage and support core aspects of the overall company compliance program. In this role, you will collaborate with IT Compliance Manager and other key personnel to ensure company adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and other necessary internal controls and policies. Serving as a key member of the IT compliance team, this person will be responsible for managing both partner as well as regulatory audits ensuring we are successful in meeting all associated deadlines and deliverables. This includes; planning, coordination, execution, maintenance and reporting of the overall IT Control frameworks; and other audit areas that may serve a combination of operational, financial and technology objectives. The IT Compliance Analyst will support the evaluation of program controls from a technical and process perspective and work with the compliance and security teams to continuously increase control maturity while maintaining critical support for business operations. The position will collaborate with senior IT leaders, department heads, and members of the enterprise security committee to monitor enforcement of all applicable standards and regulations. What you'll do here: * Develop and grow technology stack understanding and business operations acumen to maintain compliance with program controls. * Track compliance processes and audit requests in support of partner and regulatory compliance reporting. * Maintain compliance control evidence processes and workflow. * Monitor and review system logs and reports. * Collect data and monitor organization activities in compliance with regulatory requirements. * Maintain necessary due diligence processes and develop artifacts as required by partners and regulators. * Manage and maintain company policies to include annual documentation refresh, exception reporting, and approvals. * Complete 3rd party due diligence audits. Skills you'll bring for success: * Bachelor's degree preferred. * Experience in financial services industry. * Knowledge of and experience with NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) - (SP 800-53r4 experience preferred). * 2-4 years of experience in privacy compliance, focused on information security, risk, privacy, and controls, of which at least 3 years is in a project or program management position. * CISA, CISM, CISSP certification or comparable accreditation preferred. * Proven experience administering a governance and compliance control platform. * Experience with DISA STIGs preferred. * Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures, issue tracking and record keeping. * Experience administering and securing various IT Technologies and controls including, but not limited to, Windows OS, Linux OS, Networking, Firewalls, Load-balancers, Web services and applications. * Thorough understanding of IT Security Best Practices. * An analytical mind able to understand the complexities of how to satisfy diverse regulatory obligations. * Excellent communication skills. * PCI/SSAE-16.
