ABOUT THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE:

The City Manager's Office (CMO) leads the implementation of many City Council policy objectives and oversees a variety of multi-departmental programs and initiatives, including Data and Performance Measurement, Public Art and Placemaking, Environmental Sustainability, Team RC DRIVE (Diversity, Respect, Inclusion, Value, Equity), the nationally recognized Healthy RC initiative, the award-winning Community Affairs Network (CAN), and the Legislative Advocacy Program, among others. The Management Analyst II position is a key leadership position in the City Manager's Office and will work closely with all City departments to promote a high quality of life for the community. You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading the City-wide data and performance measurement initiative - steering the organization's culture, and building its capacity for utilizing data on a regular basis to make decisions, tell stories and solve problems.

  • Assisting with the implementation of the City's new financial and human capital management platform

  • Assisting with the City's State and Federal Legislative Program to safeguard and elevate City interests, advance its strategic goals, and ensure an equitable quality of life for all who live, learn, work, and play in Rancho Cucamonga.

  • Directly supervising one employee, a Management Aide, who will assist with the above programs in addition to working on department budget, grants and awards, special projects, Healthy RC programs, and community engagement

  • You will also have the opportunity to:

  • Work with the City Council to support their policies and programs

  • Support the City's nationally recognized health, environmental sustainability, and resiliency initiative

ABOUT THE PUBLIC WORKS SERVICES DEPARTMENT

Public Works Service Department's mission is to provide efficient stewardship f the City's public works infrastructure.

The Public Works Service Department has four (4) sections: Facilities (services 15 City facilities and 8 fire district facilities); Parks and Landscaping (maintains 31 parks, adult sports park and baseball stadium, 125 street front miles and comprehensive inventory of trees, paseos and trails; Street/Fleet/Storm Drain (maintain 534 roadway miles, including 4,004 catch basins and 226 signalized intersections, and provides fleet maintenance for 166 vehicles and over 140 pieces of on/off-road equipment; and Administration/Project Management (manages departmental support services, contracts, safety and risk management, budget and capital maintenance projects.

In this role, you will:

  • You will play a vital administration role, contributing to the efficient and effective management of the department budget, procurement of goods and services, and data research.

  • You will forecast expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities for a multimillion-dollar budget and provide recommendations to leadership.

  • You will assist in the procurement of goods and services, which will include solicitation of bids, contract negotiation, and vendor management.

  • You will conduct data research consisting of obtaining, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide valuable insight and support data decision-making processes within the department and organization.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED

Management Analyst II: Graduation from college with a Bachelor's degree or coursework in Public Administration, Accounting, or a related field; and two (2) years of responsible governmental administrative experience or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.

Management Analyst III: Graduation from college with a Bachelor's degree or coursework in Public Administration, Accounting, or a related field; and four years of responsible governmental administrative experience including two years of supervisory experience or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.
