About the Department

WHO WE ARE…

The Community Services Department is responsible for providing enriching, fun, and meaningful opportunities for the community to come together. The department operates the Epicenter Sports Complex, RC Family Resource Center, RC Sports Center, Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, Goldy S. Lewis Community Center, and James L. Brulte Senior Center. In addition to the above-listed facilities, more than 30 different parks are open to the community for passive use, park shelters and event rentals, hiking trails, athletic fields, and city-planned special events.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING HERE AT TEAM RC

The Management Aide position is responsible for performing tasks, research, and analysis on administrative, fiscal, and operational matters, and preparing reports to summarize findings and make recommendations. The position operates in the Community Services Administration Division and is focused on delivering services for internal strengthening and efficiency betterment for the department holistically, advancing the positive impacts in the community through administrative functions.

You'll beresponsiblefor:

  • Assisting in budget preparation, analysis, and administration.
  • Assisting with the technical administrative functions related to invoicing, audits, and payments.
  • Performing audits and/or maintaining records of account activity.
  • Preparing projections of service volumes and related costs.
  • Compiling data and preparing reports in accordance with general guidelines.
  • Compiling and analyzing key performance measures for the department.
  • Assisting with grant and sponsorship research and administration.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED

Educationand/orExperience:

High school graduation or GED is required. College-level coursework in public administration, accounting, or a related field is desirable. Five years of increasingly responsible clerical, technical, and routine administrative experience related to the assigned position, including or supplemented by college-level coursework in public administration, accounting, or a related field.

Knowledge,Skills,andAbilities:

Working knowledge of research methods and techniques, statistical analysis and report preparation techniques; methods and procedures of budget preparation; organization and functions of the assigned municipal department; general office procedures; customer service procedures; leadership techniques; word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database software applications.

Ability to perform specialized, technical, and routine administrative tasks; enter, search, and update computerized records and reports; conduct research, perform analysis, and prepare reports of findings; interpret and apply related laws, ordinances, and regulations; work independently; understand and follow verbal and written directions; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

Depending upon assignment, possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver's license and demonstrate a satisfactory driving record.
