JOB SUMMARY:

As an intern, you will get the opportunity to function as a dedicated processing assistant to support the efforts of the Managed Services Outsourcing (MSO) team. You will be accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and timely on-line sales and use tax (SUT) filings and payments. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the tax team in preparing SUT tax returns and other required documents using tax software systems

• Collaborate with MSO team members to assist in the submission of returns and payments

• Enter and manage data with utmost accuracy ensuring all information is correct and up to date

• Participate in other projects or duties such as preparing and filing new jurisdictional sales tax registrations for clients

• Track and respond to notices from taxing jurisdictions, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must manage time and priorities effectively by completing tasks in a timely manner.

• Must be detailed and results oriented

• Must be able to work under tight monthly deadlines, with strong organizational skills

• Ability to display sound judgment and problem solve issues

• Ability to work independently on routine work, with more guidance on new projects or assignments

• Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships

• Ability to follow detailed practices and procedures in order to resolve issues

• Comfortable communicating with clients and tax jurisdictions

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate degree in accounting, finance or equivalent experience a plus

• Proficient in Microsoft applications

• Internet savvy
