Burrell Behavioral Health has an opening for a Managed Care Manager. This is an exciting new position for the Burrell Support Services Department.

About the Role:

  • Must be able to serve as internal subject matter expert for the managed care team. Providing direction and guidance to staff as appropriate.

  • Implement policies and procedures to ensure that the facility's, as well as the department's missions and objectives are meet.

  • Interacts with all appropriate departments; Works with the billing department to communicate contract specifics for new plans and changes in data requirements on the existing; Participates in assigned projects and attends required meetings

  • Minimum of 3 5 years in a Managed Care environment and knowledge of and experience with third party and managed care insurance coverage.

  • Good knowledge of and experience with third party insurance regulations and requirements.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem solving skills.

  • Analyzes and prepares reports on trends as directed.

  • Manages staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.

  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met.


  • Advanced healthcare administration or 3-5years experience in the related area as an individual contributor preferred.

  • Experience in corporate office setting is required.

This is the chance to join a company working to provide non-opioid pain medications that may be appropriate for millions of surgical procedures requiring post-operative pain medication. Our Company: Recro Pharma, Inc. is a revenue generating specialty pharmaceutical company developing non-opioid therapeutics for the treatment of pain, initially for acute post-operative pain. Recro Pharma has two product candidates in mid to late stage clinical trials for the management of acute post-operative pain. Recro has completed multiple Phase II & Phase III clinical trials for IV meloxicam, a proprietary, long-acting preferential COX-2 inhibitor, in patients with post-surgical pain. . We believe IV meloxicam compares favorably to competitive therapies in magnitude of pain relief, onset of pain relief, duration of pain relief and time to peak analgesic effect. Dex-IN, a proprietary intranasal formulation of Dexmedetomidine, is currently being tested in Phase II clinical trials. Dexmedetomidine, or Dex, is a selective alpha-2 adrenergic agonist that has demonstrated sedative, analgesic and anxiolytic properties. If approved, Dex-IN would also be the first and only approved acute post-operative pain drug in its class of drugs. Recro Pharma owns and operates an 87,000 square foot, DEA-licensed facility that manufactures five commercial products that are commercialized by partners, and receives royalties associated with the sales of these products. The Position: The Acute Care Business Manager (ABM) will be responsible for achieving and maximizing territory and account sales goals through account management, high-level clinical proficiency and effective selling. The ABM will be the primary point of contact for Recro with key hospital influencers and decision makers across key functional areas including but not limited to surgeons, anesthesiologists, pharmacists and formulary committee members. Education & Experience: Required: * Minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical, surgery, biotech or related sales experience * Minimum of 3 years hospital sales experience * Undergraduate degree * Demonstrated track record of sales success and leadership * Ability to comprehend and utilize technical information Preferred: * Solid understanding of Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)/Hospital Marketplace * Active and current relationships with target audience and KOLs within local geography * Product Launch experience * Strongly preferred that candidates reside within territory * Scientific degree preferred * Surgical and/or acute care analgesia and/or anesthesia sales experience preferred * In depth knowledge of buy & bill system * Knowledge of Navigating Market Access Publicis Worldwide Springfield MO
