Position Title: Mammography/CT Tech, Lead Department:

Radiology Must obtain#Certification in RT(M) within twelve months of hire Purpose: Provides general and specialized imaging service and care to patients during both diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures.

Provides specialized mammography imaging service and care to patients during screening mammogram procedures.

The technologist is accountable for optimal images through the use of mammography and diagnostic equipment. Provides educational information in mammography and breast health.

Responsible for and oversees the Mammography Quality Control program. Works closely with imaging staff in the Center for Breast Health.

Supervisory Responsibility:


Advanced Direction:

The job requires some accountability for scheduling, assigning, or coordinating work.

The employee will check the quality of work, provide guidance, instruction, training, and direction to others. The job requires some formal or official supervisory responsibility.

The individual serves as a group leader and acts in an assistant supervisory or lead role. In addition, the employee is expected to provide information or suggestions on human resources matters.


Materials Responsibility:


Limited: Work requires limited responsibility for material resources.

Examples of resources could include supplies, equipment, inventories, small budgets, and other similar material assets. The employee has a limited amount of control over these resources. The cost of errors is also limited in terms of damage, waste or financial loss.

Problems associated with material resources are not complex. The volume of resources may vary, but the level of difficulty in dealing with these resources is uncomplicated.

Training Preferred:


Certified as a CT Technologist, Certified Mammography Technologist # Licensure/Registration: Iowa Permit to Practice, ARRT, Certification in RT(M) within twelve months of hire; RT(CT) within three years of hire.


Experience:


More than 1 year experience required.


Interpersonal Skills:


Interaction is with a variety of people inside or outside the organization.

Communications are of moderate difficulty and sensitivity.

Contact with others may involve detailed # lengthy dialogues # exchanges of information. Requires a moderate amount of interpersonal skills. Interactions involve dealing with moderately complicated problem situations or stressful encounters.


Working Conditions:


There is exposure to some undesirable or unpleasant environmental characteristics.

The physical environment is generally safe and there is minimal health risk.

No safety equipment or unusual precautions are required. Exposure to these conditions would be limited to 70% or less of the work day.
