We invite you to come join our Healthcare Imaging Centers' team on Day Street in Riverside as a Mammography Technologist. This per-diem opportunity will help with coverage as needed between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.
In this Mammography position you will have the opportunity to:
Perform Screening Mammograms using GE Senographer Essential equipment.
Evaluates images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed if requested by Radiologist
Explains procedure to patient prior to performance of the exam
Produces high quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care
Completes paperwork after each patient, closes the chart before opening a chart for a new patient
Treats patients and customers, including family members or care providers that may accompany the patient, with courtesy, professionalism and respect.
Monitors patients' well-being during exam; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action.
Understands and uses compression, exposure modes, filter, KvP, Mas, grid selection, focal spot size, AEC selection, photo cell selection and other adjustments and factors on the equipment in order to produce high quality images.
Uses ALARA concept to minimize patient radiation doses. Documents and reports any over-exposure and advises management immediately.
Checks patient history, and obtains appropriate signed waivers, if necessary.
Consults with radiologist when necessary to determine appropriate exam in the event there is a question in patent history.
Responds to physician questions and needs regarding patient procedures.
Checks referral for appropriate study based on patient history. Verifys patient to Photo ID in attachments.
Keeps exam rooms and dressing booths clean and properly stocked with supplies.
Handles delicate situations in a supportive and empathetic manner ("good bedside manner") while maintaining appropriate confidentiality regarding exam outcomes or potential issues.
Communicates delays or changes in the schedule to the appropriate person(s).
If a question in the images appearance will immediately contact the Radiologist prior to any additional images taken.
Conducts QC testing to ensure the quality control functions related to mammography.
Participates in projects and completes other tasks as assigned by management.
May be asked to cover other sites as needed.

We're looking for experienced and professional Mammography Technologist. Must have current ARRT(R) certification, and CA State licenses in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology and Mammography, current CPR certification, meets ACR Guidelines for a Mammographer, and be up to date on CEUs. Applicants must also have and utilize excellent customer service skills, and strong written and verbal communications skills.
Must provide 40 initial hours of training or attestation if registered on or after 10/1/94
