Mammography Technologist

Prepares room, equipment, medicine and materials as needed for patients, Cleans and disinfects x-ray room/equipment. Assists with the preparations of chemical mixtures for mammography biopsies and exams.

Assists radiologists in the administration of intravenous and subcutaneous material. Prepares patient for exam. Explains procedure, positions patient and assists patient at end of procedure.

Follows prescribed techniques in administering general and specific X-rays. Adjusts equipment. Determines proper technique.

Determines image quality before transmitting exam to PACS. Ensures images have transferred adequately to PACS and radiologist workstation. Observes patient and machine during procedure and reports unusual occurrences and records patient’s condition.

Maintains stock supplies and performs general office duties. Assist in the performance of quality control testing as needed. Protects self and patient from injury and unnecessary radiation by utilizing proper technique factors.

Assists in training new staff members. Maintains and respects confidentiality. Requirements: Required experience/ Lics: 2 years in Mammo; current, valid ARRT (R) and CRT (R)(Fl)(M), AHA-BLS, ARRT (M) (preferred) Certs:
