I. SUMMARY OF POSITION PURPOSE The R.T.M. is responsible for performing radiographic procedures on patients of every age utilizing techniques to provide quality images for physician interpretation. Maintains ARRT and Mammography credentials as required by federally-mandated MQSA standards. II. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Contribute to the achievement of excellence in healthcare by demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the culture, mission and values of AnMed. Foster and encourage teamwork. Collaborates to accomplish organization goals, inspires trust, deals effectively with conflict, and collaborates with proper personnel in delivery of patient care and safety with a streamlined workflow. Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills essential for the productivity of the department and staff. Assists and gather information for ACR accreditation for Mammography, Stereotactic Biopsy and Breast Ultrasound. Motivate and inspire staff to improve and excel in positioning and compression scores, located in the Volpara software program. These scores are pulled monthly for evaluation. Provide clinical feedback and positioning with one on one coaching/instruction, as needed in accordance with the EQUIP standards program. Demonstrate ability to perform high quality mammograms in a timely, professional, confidential and personally attentive manner. Maintain MQSA/FDA records. Ensure all QA is up to date and accurate for inspection. Disseminate direct communication from management to staff appropriately, with a positive attitude. Initiate and implement corrective action as needed. Act as a #super-user# on any new or existing equipment for the mammography department. Maintain accurate records for time keeping, credits and equipment. Serve as a role model to the staff and display professionalism, courtesy, respectful attitude, tact, and patience during any interactions with patients, staff and physicians. Facilitate open communication and joint decision making with staff, and demonstrate effective interpersonal, listening and verbal skills. Responsible for managing and overseeing supplies. Manage staff schedules and workflow, including flex hours. Flexing to volume is required. Complete annual evaluations on mammography staff. Perform other duties as requested by management. Perform all clinical tasks in the mammography department including: Review the patient medical record for patient history and clinical data for correlation with any previous history. Explain the procedure, position patient and provide excellent care. Select technical factors, imaging mode and assumes care for any physical and psychological needs of the patient. Practice radiation safety and protection. Assist radiologist with special procedures as needed/requested. Display knowledge of all equipment and monitor functions. Recognizes any malfunction and immediately report to service and the manager. III. EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS High school/ GED Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program Current ARRT certification. Mammography certification required/Breast Ultrasound training required within 6 months of hire date. Current SCRQSA license required Previous mammography supervisory experience preferred Direct knowledge of ACR accreditation and FDA/MQSA inspection. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Models fairness, respect and accountability.

  • High school/ GED
