Under the direction of the Department Administrator, and in accordance with department policies and procedures, operates mammographic and ultrasound equipment in order to obtain images for designated areas. While performing duties, may assist radiologist in carrying out more complex examinations, and assist with sterile procedures. Will also provide support for RCH's Quality Control programs in accordance to the American College of Radiography guidelines including maintaining logs related to the ACR & MQSA accreditation surveys.

Mammo Technician PRN PRN/Varied Breast Center
Licensure/ Certification/ Registration:
Certifications from AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Initial mammography training through AMA approved internship program.
Must meet the current continuing education requirement for mammography.
Two years of experience in a Radiology department or Breast Imaging Center with emphasis on mammography procedures.
Knowledge of diagnostic principles and procedures including operation and maintenance of radiologic equipment acquired through satisfactory completion of an accredited radiologic technology-training program.
Experience with computerized digital mammography preferred.
Minimum of 200 mammograms performed in the last 24 months.
Experience with digital mammography preferred.
Ability to set-up and operate mammography equipment.
Knowledge of patient care and sterile techniques.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions with the ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English.
