The Database Administrator shall create and maintain performance benchmarks and metrics, make recommendations on hardware and software specifications for optimal database performance, administer Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL database servers, support certification and accreditation activities, and perform all duties related to on-going operation of the database infrastructure. Tasks shall include, but not be limited to, database and application troubleshooting, installation, backups, configuration and performance tuning, development support, scripting, and producing documentation. Assist with all duties related to on-going operation of the database infrastructureThis position is open to partial remote delivery from the Baltimore/Washington DC/Central Maryland region at 50%. Approximately 50% in person delivery from the Laurel, MD location is required.RequirementsA current Top-Secret/SCI with CI polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.Eight (8) years demonstrated experience designing, developing and/or maintaining databases, data warehouses or multidimensional databases. A Bachelors Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information systems or related discipline may be substituted for four (4) years of experience, or a Master of Science degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information systems or related discipline may be substituted for six (6) years experience.This position requires DoD 8570 compliance at minimum, IAT Category, Level II.
Required technical skills:
  • Four (4) years demonstrated direct experience administering database servers (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL). Experience shall include database installation, configuration, performance tuning and backups.
  • Four (4) years demonstrated experience administering database servers and/or cloud based systems. Particular type of database server will be dependent on the position being filled. Experience shall include database installation, configuration, performance tuning and backups.
  • Four (4) years demonstrated experience administering database security configurations (e.g., Oracle Label Security).
  • Two (2) years demonstrated experience with scripting languages.

They are responsible for providing technical support for the day-to-day SQL and Oracle Server activities of the organization to include providing technical support for chartered Projects. They work on complex assignments and perform a wide range of database administration activities. The Database Administrator Manager must possess expertise with varied concepts, standard best business practices, and procedures and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. They perform a variety of tasks without supervision and reports to the Credentialing Systems Manager.</p><ul><li><p>Provide the daily leadership, scheduling, and assurance that all routine and ad hoc project management/scheduling, system administration and IT infrastructure processes are handled to Government Program satisfaction for the Database Administrators</p></li><li><p>Supply other managerial functions to team and with guidance from Operations Manager, such as performance reviews and metrics, coaching/consulting, personnel task assignment, in- and out- of cycle reporting and status of team's activities and/or issues. Support and assure adherence to all corporate and client site policies.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for the security and management of Database systems in non-production and production environments</p></li><li><p>Solve complex integration and technical problems in a dynamic fast-paced environment</p></li><li><p>Act as a Senior Database Administrator directing team members to ensure all requirements are delivered in an efficient, highly productive manner</p></li><li><p>Provide technical support for the day-to-day SQL Server activities of the organization</p></li><li><p>Provide technical Support for chartered Projects, e.g. Security Remediation, Disaster Recovery</p></li><li><p>Implement database changes to improve performance and security</p></li><li><p>Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard databases</p></li><li><p>Measure database performance and troubleshoot complex database issues</p></li><li><p>Configure and monitor interfaces with other systems</p></li><li><p>Configure and maintain system databases, user databases, server instances, schema, tables, views, functions, triggers, and indexes</p></li><li><p>Configure and manage system and database user IDs and group permissions, database backups and recoveries</p></li><li><p>Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot bi-directional database replication</p></li><li><p>Work with other DBAs, Systems Administrators, and application developers to resolve various system issues</p></li></ul><p>The projected compensation range for this position is $105,000-$155,000. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
