Leidos Life Sciences supports biomedical research and development management efforts for both our military and our government civilian clients, including the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, National Institute of Health, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Department of Homeland Security, and others. Our work in this focus area includes providing both scientific/technical analyses as well as business analyses of efforts varying from individual research programs to entire organizational mission analyses.

We also provide program management and regulatory / quality assurance support for the development of medical drugs and biologics through our virtual pharma practice. Leidos Life Sciences seeks an Operations Manager to provide support to our ongoing Malaria Vaccine development program for the US Agency for International Development. The Operations Manager has the primary responsibility of executing the contract's operations, administrative and financial management activities. Additional responsibilities include the management of the organization's financial tracking system, timely submission of required reporting and deliverables and efficient written and verbal communications; tracking the status of action items, program milestones and monthly reports; and acquisition and administrative support.

Additional tasks will include providing organization of meetings, program reviews, conferences and briefings, preparing presentation materials and displays, hosting or participating in the event, and recording and tracking action items, as required.

Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, or finances will be required; with at least eight years of professional experience managing procurements, operations, administration and/or finances of programs; having experience in research and development programs is preferred; and strong knowledge of government rules and regulations. Specifically the successful candidate will have an understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations as they relate to medical research and development.

Additional required skills include Microsoft Office Suite, especially experience with Excel and/ or other database programs. Microsoft Project with the ability to create work breakdown structure and program schedules with deliverables.

Desired qualifications include strong communication skills and ability to multi-task in a deadline oriented environment as well as experience in project coordination with knowledge of the life science program cycle and standard budgeting practices.

Specialized Skills and Experience: Display an ability to perform the following:

  • Experience in preparing program Technical Progress Reports (TPR).

  • Knowledge and experience in SharePoint, Excel, and MS Project.

  • Experience / Working knowledge of the federal RFP cycle and proposal preparation
