The Sr. Major Gift Officer reports to the Director of Philanthropic initiatives and will serve as a strategist for individual and major gift development prospects with a focus on identified fundraising priories, services, or researches areas, this position plays a key role in meetings the fundraising goals of the Memorial Foundation through physicians engagement, volunteer and donor management.

The Senior Officer will successfully grow and manage a major gift portfolio of approximately 100 to 150 prospects to meet assigned goals and objectives for the Foundation. He/She well be expected to make 140 face-to-face visits per year and deliver a minimum of 16 proposals annually Will work with clinical leadership and colleagues to identify and qualify prospective donors, make qualification calls and discovery visits to build a pipeline of prospects capable of making gifts of $25,000 and above. This position will develop and implement gift strategies and solicitations, ensure accurate gift processing, create and manage individual stewardship plans and develop appropriate engagement opportunities.

As part of engagement efforts, the Officer will be responsible for initiating appropriate contract and developing meaningful events for donors and prospective donors to showcase unique opportunities for support. The Officer will be responsible for tracking profess and results utilizing prospect management guidelines and the Raiser's Edge fundraising database.



  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college


  • Minimum of 7 years of major gift experience in a large organization, especially in higher education and/or a medical center or medical research environment, with a track record of successful major gift solicitation



  • Master's degree and experience in comprehensive fundraising campaigns preferred


  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)

PRINCIPLE DUTIES: * Informs the Chef de Cuisine and Dietary Director of all activities and operational problems, making suggestions for improvement and corrections as needed. * Responsible for meals including modified foods for restricted and therapeutic diets. * Tastes all food prepared and consults with supervisor regarding finished product. * Serves meals according to diet specifications and in accordance with established portion control procedures. * Maintains assigned work station in a safe and sanitary condition. Follows safety protocols and uses safety equipment as required. * Ensures that excellent, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved. * Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and communicates this with Dietary Director. Ensures that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production. Assist Chef de Cuisine with food inventory if needed. * Accountable for ensuring adherence to all food production regulations/procedures and recipe compliance. * Accountable for ensuring proper recording on temperature logs and other regulatory documentation requirements such as sanitation standards, food labeling, etc. are met. * Assists in maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction for our residents and their guests. * Maintains the appearance, cleanliness and services of facility at or above Health Department standards through routine cleaning schedules. * Provides direction to the kitchen staff especially in the absence of the Dietary Director or Chef de Cuisine. * Other tasks as assigned by the Dietary Director and Chef de Cuisine. OTHER DUTIES: * Assists in maintaining daily, weekly and monthly statistical information as required. * Uses time, material and equipment properly to eliminate waste and unnecessary expense. * Maintains good working relations with employees; illustrates leadership to promote unity of effort, group pride, harmony and teamwork. * Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned. * Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: * Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively. * Perform simple arithmetic. * Ability to understand measurements and conversions. * Minimum of three years experience as a Lead Cook or equivalent in a hotel, restaurant, club with fine dining, or health care. * Assisted Living/Skilled Nursing cooking experience preferred. * Minimum three years supervisory experience. * Weekend and weekday availability. * Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet. * Culinary education strongly preferred. * ServSafe certification. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to bend, stoop, and stretch frequently throughout the day.
