Job Description: /Purpose:

Identify, develop and close new business opportunities on the Verizon Account Team, focused on the Core and possibly the Business Edge networks, with a major emphasis on positioning Juniper's Vision, Strategy and Thought leadership in this very active part of the Verizon network. Meet and/or exceed predetermined sales and services quota and key objectives while operating within Juniper's guidelines.

Develop and expand relationships with customer's Architecture, Planning, Engineering and Operations teams to drive Juniper's business and company strategy. Work closely with Account Team Leadership and internal Juniper organizations to communicate a vision for Juniper-client engagement, and to drive sales that grows the existing healthy business Juniper already does today with these franchises. Work with Account Team Leadership to develop and implement an account plan consistent with these objectives, and participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and Executive Briefing Center (EBC) Reviews to track progress toward shared goals, and to review customer issues, challenges, and success factors. Work with assigned Sales Engineer(s) and Account Architecture leadership to form well-aligned AM/SE relationship to achieve account team objectives.

Skills and Experience:

BS/BA/BE 10 plus years proven successful sales experience exceeding targeted objectives in the IP/MPLS edge/aggregation and Core routing, Switching, and Security environment serving the Content Delivery vertical.

Successful experience in driving a sales agenda with key customer organizations such as Architecture, Planning, Engineering and Operations is a must.

Verizon organization and network architecture knowledge is a must.

Familiarity with cloud service delivery, integration, and economics/business models is a plus.

Must have experience in driving tactical steps towards near-term revenue, developing creative sales strategies, account plans, preparing proposals, and presenting Network solutions.

Must have outstanding verbal and written and presentation skills, and a demonstrated ability to multi-task on multiple sales campaigns at once.

Must have a business-level understanding of IP/MPLS routing, Switching, and Security products.

Must have the ability to work autonomously, be self-motivated and a strong team player, providing guidance and leadership to the support staff including Sales Engineering. Ability to travel 30-35% of the time is a must.

Location: Dallas, Texas vicinity. Must be within reasonable driving distance from Verizon Richardson, TX facilities.

The Position This role is a unique opportunity to lead significant change in a quickly evolving marketplace. The sales function is the primary point of contact for our customers and will spearhead customer relationship management initiatives. The Global Account Manager will be responsible for the orchestration of sales activities in our segment of Global accounts within our Core and Emerging line of business. The sales activities will be performed in collaboration with local Account Management teams, Specialist Sales teams, technical resources, partners/GSI's and with the allocation of resources from functional teams such as Delivery, Operations etc. Based on industry knowledge and client engagement the National Account Manager will define the global approach and engagement priorities for our Accounts, through understanding of customer business needs and mapping our solutions by closely tying pre-sales/solutions/services and products team. The National Account Manager will coordinate sales effort across geographies to present One Hitachi experience for customer and ensuring consistency in sales approach while being able to monitor, measure and communicate progress against stated goals. Responsibilities * Internal and external – demonstrate ownership / accountability and become a trusted advisor and escalation point. Own contact plan for the executive level. * Own communication strategy and travel as appropriate to build global key internal and external relationships. * Where appropriate build plans and relationships with global partners, mapping and understanding Partners, SWOT analysis and collaboration with Hitachi Channel Mgmt. * Insures a Consistent One Hitachi approach / experience for the customer. * Coordinate with vertical and technical specialists across geos'. * Adoption of a Global Framework Agreement to provide customers with common (regardless of geo), terms, services levels, licensing rights, liabilities & right to re-address etc. Drive pricing consistency by setting annual discount levels against global spend targets, use single currency to match customer budgets, group commercial benefits and deliver the same in all regions * Consistent and regular account team communication and alignment * Lead/Opportunity Management * Provide support and escalation to local teams * Validate the global accounts pipeline (including the locally managed regional leads) and driving sales * Manage new projects and opportunities incl (GAP analysis) by establishing clear leadership and ownership of opportunity deliverables between Sales, Presales and Support teams as well as Partner and external collaboration Primary Qualifications * Minimum of 15 years industry experience required * Ability to reference sell based on library of business outcome focused references * Solution selling methodology and approach * Strong communicator, take the lead and structure approach * Market insight and understand the unique needs of business * Understand the client strategy, political/competitive landscape and budget priorities * Maintains good rapport and demonstrates leadership and teamwork in cross-functional teams * Ability to work seamlessly in a direct and virtual matrixed managed environment * Revenue driven and sales process competent * Customer focused and savvy business hunter mentality * Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and demonstrated analytical skills * Bachelor or Master degree education, Business or Technical * Experience selling to Global Accounts * Experience Selling Data Management / Cloud / Software Solutions We are an equal opportunity employer.
