Maintenance Worker

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Building Services, the Maintenance Worker performs routine maintenance on the Winthrop University campus, including, but not limited to, changing light bulbs; unstopping sinks, tubs and commodes; painting; changing HVAC filters and cleaning coils; and performing general appliance, minor electrical and plumbing repairs. Troubleshoots electrical and plumbing issues. Assists with grounds keeping, including grass mowing, trimming, watering and parking lot cleanup.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

High School diploma; one year of related experience or one year of technical training; and a valid driver's license.

Ability to perform maintenance and repairs to building systems; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public; work with little supervision; and lift 75 pounds.

Additional Comments

This position is 30 hours per week.
