We currently have a full time opening for a Maintenance Worker at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York, PA. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintains the overall appearance of cemetery, mausoleum and/or funeral home locations, which may include: maintenance and grounds keeping, locating grave sites, digging graves, installing crypt faces, conducting interments, entombments and inurnments, and simple repairs and maintenance tasks.

Depending on the location to which the associate is assigned, individual responsibilities may include some, or all, of the following activities: grounds keeping, interment/memorialization, facilities cleaning/maintenance.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cuts grass, maintains lawn, trims around trees, walkways and memorial markers, lays sod, moves and removes flowers to and from chapel and graveside.

  • Clears debris and maintains drives and walkways in safe condition. May require snow removal depending on location.

  • Prepares minor repairs to grave markers.

  • Erects tents / canopies and arranges chairs for graveside ceremony.

  • Prepares crypts for entombments.

  • Installs grave markers, bronze memorials, crypt faces, etc.

  • Maintains and repairs existing markers and other cemetery features.

  • Assists with setup for openings and closings for interments, entombments and inurnments.

  • Under supervision, may operate backhoe to dig graves without damage to surrounding vaults, markers or monuments.

  • Operates equipment in a safe and careful manner to avoid damage to cemetery property.

  • Maintains, services, cleans and properly stores equipment.

  • General maintenance of facilities and vehicles.

  • Cleans and maintains facility to include performing minor repairs, painting, etc.

  • Arranges chapel for services.

  • Washing and cleaning all funeral home vehicles as required from time to time.

  • May assists in loading and unloading of caskets.

  • May assist in moving and installing vaults.

  • Observe safety rules and ensure compliance with the operating procedures of corporate, federal, state and local regulations, including OSHA regulations and Safety and Environmental guidelines.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

  • High school education or GED equivalent or relevant work experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 6 months of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment, including, but not limited to a shovel, pick, rake, sledge hammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer and leaf blower

  • Ability to accurately use measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, yard stick, etc.)

  • Ability to communicate effectively with fellow associates, contractor personnel and client families

  • Ability to operate equipment in a safe and careful manner

  • Ability to effectively work with others to accomplish tasks

  • Ability to operate equipment in a safe and careful manner

  • Ability to be adaptable to changing work schedules and multi-tasking

  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions

  • Basic computer skills to enable retrieving and responding to email communications

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time

  • Ability to lift up to 150 with equipment assistance

  • Ability to push and pull up to 300 lbs.

The Maintenance Reliability Engineer originates and develops analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment and processes. Acquires and analyzes maintenance data. Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports to define reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements and avoids maintenance delays. Conducts analysis of maintainability problems and investigates to determine the outage required for the particular situation, with consideration given to cost limitations for equipment up-time/down-time, repair/replacement costs and weight, size and availability of materials/equipment. Determines cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with demands for timely repair of processes/equipment. Responsibilities and Expectations * Provides engineering leadership and expertise in developing, improving and maintaining a maintenance program * Provides engineering support for reliability and PM programs * Analyze OEE for improvement opportunities then develop and implement solutions * Provides daily reports of OEE / equipment availability and coordinates with Process Engineers for improvement implementation * Creates predictive maintenance schedules, testing procedures and routines so that cost savings can be realized by increasing equipment lifetime, increasing plant safety and allowing few unplanned equipment stops * Analyze test results, via statically process control techniques to determine what future maintenance activities are required. This will be accomplished by working directly with maintenance coordinators and creating service orders * Considers impact of costs on recommended action plans for avoiding/correcting problems during the design phase or remedial action for correcting downtime problems on installed equipment * Plans and performs engineering research, design development, or manufacturing/process engineering assignments, including responsibility for major subsections of complex projects using general engineering practices influenced by the general theme of reducing downtime * Estimates engineering personnel needs and coordinates and supervises the use of other engineers and technicians to accomplish the objective of cost-effective outage improvements for projects * Recognizes that assignments are broad in nature and require appreciable originality and ingenuity to complete them and considerable latitude for non-viewed actions or decisions * Attend Maintenance scheduling meetings to ensure that test can be performed and repairs made in a timely fashion * Follows company safety and health guidelines and other company policies Required Education and Experience * S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) * Associates in Engineering required (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) * Exceptional mechanical aptitude with electrical and controls experience preferred Have you heard of RHI Magnesita?
