Must have Basic Electrical: replace light bulbs and electrical outlets; minor plumbing, touch up walls and painting, faucet replacements, mowing and gardening.
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the maintenance of the facility's equipment, building, and grounds.
Report to work when scheduled.
Carry out and follow all facility personnel policies.
Perform and satisfactorily complete all daily assignments.
Remain on the assigned task leaving only for break, lunch, or with the express permission of the supervisor.
Participate in all in-service tra,ining and meetings as required.
Follow department safety rules.
Maintain the shop and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Assist outside contractors in locating problems and help them if needed.
Properly care for and maintain tools and equipment.
Wear proper unifonn as required.
Report to the supervisor for other assignments when completed with assigned tasks.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Environmental Services Supervisor.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Be at least 16 years of age
An interest in working with the elderly and handicapped.
Be available "on call" on weekends and for emergencies.
Be able to read and communicate in English.
Be able to work holidays, weekends, and all shifts as scheduled.
Be able to work well with other personnel residents, and visitors.
Be able to lift heavy equipment and supplies
