MAINTENANCE WORKER II
SOLID WASTE - Public Works Department
Solid Waste Division -
Up to $2,500 sign on bonus available and rate increase
The Public Works Department is seeking qualified applicants to join our team. Successful applicant must be able to work holidays and some Saturday's and when called in for winter operations.
Requirements:
Demonstrate the ability to operate and maintain Solid Waste equipment including rubbish packers, recycling trucks, roll-off trucks.
Must also have ability to operate and maintain winter equipment including dump trucks and front-end loaders as required.
Applicants must possess good visual acuity for driving and physical strength, agility and stamina necessary to withstand exposure to adverse climatic conditions.
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and members of the public.
Must possess valid Maine Class B driver's license (must provide license number).
Must pass pre-employment medical exam and fitness assessment and pass federally mandated drug test
Must have and maintain good driving record.

Salary & Benefits:
Labor & Trades Union position
Grade 17
Starting pay range $860.60 to $920.00/week, based on qualifications and years of experience, plus $2.00 per hour CDL stipend. May be willing to hire the right applicant with Class C license at Grade 16 with $1.00 market rate stipend and help to obtain Class B license within six (6) month probationary period.
