Performs semiskilled work on a variety of construction, maintenance and repair projects; operates equipment in connection with tasks; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.

Performs a variety of semiskilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of assigned facilities including parks, landscape, drain ways, buildings, sidewalks, streets, and storm water infrastructure.
Installs, repairs, and maintains drainage facilities, irrigation systems, and park facilities.
Pours and finishes concrete; grades area, sets forms, and grinds concrete trip hazards.
Maintains City buildings; does minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical work; paints buildings, benches, and tables; patches asphalt, and grades ditches.
Installs, repairs, and maintains fences, landscaping, sod drainage facilities, street signs, walkways, and other public-use areas.
Mows and maintains grounds of assigned area, maintains and prepares fields, and repairs equipment.
Ensures grounds, Right of Ways, and/or facilities are free from debris, restrooms are clean and adequately supplied, and trash is emptied.
Assembles and uses small tools and material required for assigned tasks.
Operates dump truck, tractor, mowers, backhoe, and various other equipment and hand tools in performance of tasks.
Serves as essential personnel during special events, natural or man-made disasters, and emergencies.
Performs related tasks as required.
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Requires three months of experience in grounds keeping, landscaping and/or irrigation or closely-related experience.
Requires a valid driver's license (must obtain Florida driver license within thirty (30) days of employment).
Valid Commercial Driver License and experience in construction, highway/street maintenance, landscaping, and/or irrigation is preferred.
