Summary

About the position:

This position will be assigned to the .Pine Oaks Lodging at Robins Air Force Base.

Must be able to lift, bend, and work in awkward positions both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier with assistance. Learn more about this agency

Responsibilities

Structure maintenance. Performs minor repairs and maintenance of furniture, to include gluing and refinishing of damaged areas.

Repairs/installs drapery rods and/or venetian blinds, replaces interior trim. Performs rerouting of ceramic tile. Installs shelving in housekeeping storage rooms, and supply areas.

Installs towel racks, shower rods in bathrooms.. Repair jobs to include, but not limited to simple carpentry, minor tile installation projects and repairs, sanding, painting, touch painting on small surface areas as needed. Paints indoor and outdoor surfaces, i.e. walls, floors, doors, and door frames. Insures that the surfaces are fully coated, protected, and free from drips and runs.

Repairing, rescreening of window screens, and patio doors. Electrical Maintenance. Performs repairs/replacement of only 120 volt light fixtures, lamps, electrical outlets, light switches, equipment power plugs, power cords, hair dryers.

Tests, resets, and replaces GFI outlets. Replaces/installs ceiling fans with light kits, etc. Accomplishes minor electrical work to comply with the National Electrical code standards.

Any electrical tasks other than replacing electrical outlets, wall switches, small light fixtures, ceiling fans, equipment power plugs, resetting GFI outlets, and resetting circuit breakers will be referred to the base civil engineering.Plumbing Maintenance. Performs unclogging of small drains such as kitchen drains, bathroom sink drains, and toilets, tub/shower drains with a 25 foot hand snake, zippit tool or plunger. Performs minor repairs of plumbing leaks, replacement of water supply lines, garbage disposals.

Equipment Maintenance. Performs preventive maintenance inspections and minor repairs on commercial laundry equipment to include commercial washers and dryers, household washers and dryers, flatwork ironer, small piece folder, air compressor, hot water heater, soft water system, and heat sealer. Also performs preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on housekeeping carts, vacuum cleaners, floor cleaners, Vapor Blitz Steamers, gas powered pressure washers, lawn mowers, weed eaters, edger's, and leaf blowing equipment.

Performs minor repairs of appliances such as refrigerators, cooking ranges, dishwashers, and portable dehumidifiers. Provide maintenance on keyless entry systems to include but not limited to changing door locks, replacing batteries, replacing card readers and reprogramming door locks. Performs monthly inspections on the cargo lift.

Communication Devices. Performs trouble shooting of telephone system problems, replacement of telephones, line cords, and handset cords. Resetting of the telephone switch components.

Install/replace/hookup television sets, DVD units, program device remotes. Performs trouble shooting of the dish network TV programing system components. Fire, life, safety.

Performs and documents the fire, life, safety monthly inspections and tests of fire extinguishers, exit lighting, and emergency lighting systems. Polices and inspects the outside areas of transient quarters, adjacent parking areas and access roads. Waters lawns and flower beds, cuts grass, trims shrubs, and greenery and removes snow from around the building.

Operates a light van or pickup truck or 1/2 ton truck with hydraulic lifts to haul a variety of supplies, moving furniture from building to buildings and items necessary in the operation of the lodging activity. Loads and unloads items hauled. Performs normal driver maintenance such as checking oil and fuel levels, cleaning windshield and vehicle interior and exterior and checking tire pressure. Maintains operation and servicing records and schedules periodic vehicle maintenance as required
