The City of Raleigh is seeking a devoted Maintenance Worker to perform preventive maintenance and repairs to building functions and/or grounds; operate assigned equipment; maintain cleanliness of work area, tools and equipment; and follow safety policies and procedures.
We are looking for reliable individuals with knowledge of the basic trades maintenance principals to provide exceptional support for the Facilities and Operations Maintenance program. Must have a strong work ethic with positive orientation and willing to learn and grow to prepare for the potential of future advancement.
Perform routine maintenance, repair, and replacements in one or many of the construction or maintenance disciplines such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, painting, or masonry
Receive, prioritizes and schedules maintenance and work requests; determine required tools, equipment and supplies; identify and request supplies and inventory
Respond to customer requests and concerns; troubleshoot, diagnose and identify issues; recommend and implement corrective action, repair and/or equipment replacement to resolve issues
Inspect equipment, tools, materials, facilities, building systems and/or grounds to ensure functionality and safety; secure and open facilities/spaces; report and/or correct issues to resolve operational deficiencies and/or unsafe conditions
Prepare, organize and maintain records, logs, report and documentation; monitor supplies and parts inventory; initiate requests of stock to replenish inventory
May serve as a maintenance mechanic assistant, working with level II mechanics on complex projects
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED and One year of maintenance or customer service experience related to plumbing, electrical, and mechanical trades
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
