Job Description


Responsible for the day to day maintenance operation of the shift and the achievement of each assembly machines goals and requirements,


  1. Communicate all machine issues and concerns at the start and end of your shift with the next maintenance technician.

  2. Maintain a clean and safe work area.

  3. Follow lock-out procedure, along with any and all other safety rules and regulations.

  4. As needed, perform and/or assist with changeovers on all machines per the setup/verification checklist and daily priority list.

  5. Increase and maintain production rates that have been set forth by management.

  6. Reduce and maintain scrap rates that have been set forth by management.

  7. Utilize the daily priority list, troubleshoot, fix and/or recommend all repairs, upgrades or improvements and document the maintenance performed using the following: Assembly Work Order Sheet; Internal Deviation Form; Assembly Decision Tree; PO Requisition Manager in the AIM System

  8. Perform and document all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance performed by using the MP2 system.

  9. Prevent unscheduled downtime by setting up and maintaining a spare parts inventory for all on-line and off-line assembly equipment, as well as order parts when inventory is low by using the PO Requisition Manager in the AIM System

  10. Work with and train under the direction of the assembly manager and controls engineer, or designee.

  11. Has authority to stop the process if nonconforming or suspect material is found.

  12. Other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Five years of mechanical troubleshooting experience.

  • Two years of electrical troubleshooting experience.

  • PLC experience for troubleshooting and maintenance (Allen Bradley SLC500 and Modicon).

  • Cognex Vision experience.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

  • Ability to perform and record standard equipment maintenance.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.

  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.


  • CAD or Solid Works experience.

  • MP2 System experience.

  • AIM System experience.

  • Ability to prioritize, track, follow-up and resolve issues internally and with external sources.

  • Ability to understand and apply new technologies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Willing to work any shift * Prior work experience in maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment * Excellent mechanical and electrical abilities * Working knowledge of PLC's, programming and troubleshooting skills * Ability to work with minimal supervision * Ability to perform maintenance activities on the following types of equipment: * Automated lines, Air compressors, Vacuum equipment, Boilers, Forklifts and other material handling equipment, Conveyors, HVAC equipment, Plumbing and Lighting * Process equipment, i.e. frame build fixtures, trim & close fixtures, final build fixtures, etc. * In-line testers, OC3 testers * Tooling, i.e. torque tools * Basic knowledge of Predictive Maintenance (Temperature, Vibration and Oil). * Proficient knowledge in general machine maintenance and repair * Read and understand electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics. Troubleshooting. * Installation of 120/240/480V electrical wiring system. * Read and understand mechanical blue prints. * Proficient in welding (MIG, etc.) * Basic knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). * Basic knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). * Basic knowledge of using machine shop equipment, (drill press, mill, lathe, etc.) * Journeymen or equivalent experience required.
