Duties and Responsibilities:
Resolve safety issues on all equipment.
Repair equipment failure (downtime).
Determine root cause failures and alleviate issues on assigned equipment.
Record all unscheduled down time on equipment in designated Hydra system.
Communicate usage, needs and sourcing of components.
Assist in the implementation of projects.
Assist in the installation of equipment as requested.
Assist in the development of continuous improvement activities as requested.
Serve as an active participant in LSS programs that promote continuous improvement.
2nd Shift position.
Education & Experience:
Two-year technical shop degree or certifications in technical aspects of maintenance (hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electricity, etc.) or equivalent experience.
Strong mechanical maintenance background.
Comprehensive knowledge Total Preventive Maintenance.
Must demonstrate ability to perform root cause analysis and possess excellent trouble shooting skills in high pressure environment.
3-5 years of work experience is required as a minimum
Stable work history required.

Lydall generates in excess of $600 million of revenue throughout the globe.Job Summary: A "Hands-on" Controls Technician to provide Technical Assistance and Support to Operations, and work closely with maintenance department to maintain and improve equipment operations. Must have a thorough understanding of all processes utilized, in automated control systems. Requires a strong background in troubleshooting and maintaining Industrial equipment at all levels. This Technician has sufficient experience and training to also mentor others. The Thermal Acoustical Solutions segment offers a full line of innovative engineered products to assist in noise and heat abatement within the automotive and industrial markets. The business manufactures acoustical damping and thermal insulating solutions comprised of fiber and metal based composite product constructions. These products are typically found in the interior (dash insulators), underbody (wheel well, fuel tank, exhaust) and under hood (engine compartment) of passenger vehicles, heavy duty trucks, recreational vehicles as well as in other industrial applications. The segment employs approximately ~1300 employees with operations in the U.S., Germany, France and China. Duties and Responsibilities: * To become the Process Expert. Primary support for Manufacturing, regarding equipment and process issues, including (but not limited to) equipment downtime and production of nonconforming product. * To be a Mentor. The Controls Technician will also identify opportunities for technical improvement with existing Technical Support Team members and maintenance personnel * Provide technical assistance with new equipment, process development, setup, debug and training across entire plant. Particularly as it relates to automation and controls. * Work with manufacturing, engineering, and quality to setup SPC files for new products/processes or executes changes to existing ones. Work with existing DCS and SCADA systems, as well as develop new ones to ensure accurate process data is available at all levels of manufacturing. * Strong Troubleshooting Skills involving all facets of machinery is a must (Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic) with emphasis on PLC's, Robotics and Control systems. * Must adhere to, and ensure that all safety procedures are maintained in accordance with Industry standards (OSHA, NEC, ANSI, IEEE). * Although primary base shift will be 1st shift, employee must be able to work extended hours, off shifts and weekends when required. Job Title: Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate: * 2 year technical / electronics degree and/or 5 years of Industrial Controls and Electronics experience * Must have Strong Technical experience with PLC software such as Allen Bradley, Siemens and other PLC equipment * Must have Strong Technical experience with VFD's and Servo-based Motion control systems * Robotics knowledge to include Fanuc robots and systems, Robotics programming and Maintenance of robotic work cells * Must have experience with Hydraulic/Mechanical presses, understand hydraulic systems and related auxiliary equipment * Must have Minimum 3 years experience in a Manufacturing environment requiring multi-tasking and the ability to prioritize with minimal direction. * Ability to function within cross-functional Teams (comprised of peers and subordinates), utilizing good communication skills and a "hands–on" approach within all projects Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred: * Technical experience with Vision system integration, programming and maintenance . * Technical knowledge of Industrial Networking including but not limited to Ethernet, RS 232 /485, andCANBUS protocols (i.e., DEVICENET, PROFIBUS, etc,…) * Experience Integrating DCS and SCADA systems for "Real-Time" Data access * Working knowledge of various types of tooling and standards (Stamping, Cutting and trim tools, thermal forming, steel rule dies, etc…) Lydall Corporation Hamptonville NC
