  • *
    • Respond to machine alarms as they occur, identify the root cause, correct as needed
    • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components and return to serviceability.
    • Repair and maintain electrical controls on molding, assembly and packaging machines
    • Repair robot end tools, mechanical systems, and controls, calibrate and adjust robot pick and place points if needed
    • Identify risk areas likely to cause equipment break-downs, participate in projects for the purpose of improving equipment reliability, process improvement, lean manufacturing
    • Upload programs in the event of program loss or CPU replacement
    • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance actions on all subsystems and related components.
    • Perform preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment.
    • Analyzes engineering test results and implements changes to resolve problems.
    • Assist automation team in the qualification process of automated systems.
    • Assists engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required for all automation solutions per specifications.
    • Assists with customer presentations and interfaces with customers.
    • Assists engineers with outside third-party automation developments.
    • Records procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or method.
    • Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation/robotic system components.
    • Maintains software, documentation and equipment to the latest revision or operational specifications.
    • Trains other technicians and operators on products, processes and equipment.
    • Organizes documentation (specifications, schematics, and procedures).

Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…

  • *
    • Associates degree, military training, or equivalent vocational training required.
    • Strong foundation mechanical and electrical experience.
    • Strong understanding of automated manufacturing principles and techniques.
    • Strong awareness of safety.
    • Previous experience maintaining and repairing variable speed motors required.
    • Previous experience maintaining and repairing high-speed robotics and production experience required.
    • Ability to wire control panels.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings.
    • Ability to monitor the process and show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues.
    • Well versed in the use of precision measuring devices and inspection tools
    • Proper usage of power tools and measuring equipment.

The Injection Molding Process Technician performs molding machine startups and corrects non-conformances using scientific molding and root-cause analysis techniques. Additionally, the Injection Molding Process Technician installs, removes, and troubleshoots complex plastic injection molds using various tools in a safe and efficient manner. We are looking for someone who demonstrates: * Intense collaboration * Passionate customer focus * Thoughtful, fast, disciplined execution * Tenacious commitment to continuous improvement * Relentless drive to win Here is a glimpse of what you'll do… * Complete daily cycle checklist to ensure safe and efficient operation of complex injection molding equipment * Perform set-up of injection molding equipment * Setting and adjusting molds prior to production * Process test runs and prepare records, charts, and graphs of results for presentation to engineering and quality teams * Daily mold and line cleaning * Complete line clearance following color changes * Adjusting production rates * Respond to machine alarms * Monitor, audit, and provide guidance to line operators * Provide technical assistance to process development and engineering personnel Here is some of what you'll need (required)… * High school diploma or equivalent and Associate's Degree in related field, technical training or equivalent education and training * Minimum two years experience performing mold setups or similar work using tools and machinery related to plastic injection molding * Minimum five years of experience performing injection molding processing * Strong Hands-On injection molding processing and troubleshooting ability using scientific approach . * Experience with world class machines (Netstal, Krauss Maffei, Roboshot, etc) and tooling maintenance procedures * Comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of robotics (Wittmann, Sepro, Yushin) and auxiliary equipment used with Plastics Injection molding machines * Experience of Multi-Shot molding, automated color blending and central material drying system (Conair, Wittmann) * Experience with engineering grade materials * Ability to effectively communicate with all levels * Ability to work under limited supervision, to self-initiate activities and to work within time limits. * Proficiency using shop monitoring systems for proper assignment of various codes, mold cavitation, etc. * Ability to communicate root cause issues and actions being implemented * Relentless continuous improvement driver Here are a few of our preferred experiences: * Degree, Certification, or training in plastics highly desired * Scientific molding such as RJG master molder highly desired * 4-6 years experience performing mold setups or similar work using tools and machinery related to plastic injection molding * Good team building skills * Ability to lead, guide/coach/Mentor and direct team members to support molding operation * Medical parts/Device experience highly desired Here are a few examples of what you'll get for the great work you provide… * Full range of medical benefits, dental, vision * Life Insurance * Matching 401K * PTO * Tuition Reimbursement * Employee discounts at local retailers Job Category Operations Flex does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies or fee based recruitment services.
