Recruitment Range: $31,200 - $37,239

Primary Purpose of the Position:

The Maintenance/Construction Technician I at the Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum works closely with the Maintenance/Construction Technician II to maintain site landscape and structures by performing sub-journey level maintenance work in HVAC, carpentry, masonry, painting, small engine maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and grounds at the site.

• Perform sub-journey level maintenance work in HVAC, carpentry, masonry, painting, small engine repair and maintenance, electrical, and/or plumbing.

• Janitorial and housekeeping.

Position/Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

• Must be able to perform strenuous activities.

• Must be able to walk long distances on uneven ground.

• Must be able to work in various weather conditions.

• Must be able to climb ladders and be willing to work on lifts and roofs.

• This position may require occasional night or weekend work.

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must have a valid Driver's License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment.

Qualified candidates must have or be able to:

• Demonstrated experience in landscaping and mowing.

• Demonstrated experience in painting and minor building repair or maintenance.

• Demonstrated experience with equipment operation and maintenance.

• Demonstrated experience with janitorial upkeep.

Management Preferences:

• Knowledge of historical building preservation and/or repair.
