Role Summary
The Aircraft Technician is responsible for performing high quality routine and non-routine aircraft maintenance. Maintaining a high level of aircraft readiness is critical to the success of our airline. Technicians must be willing to operate as a team, be energetic, flexible and safety focused. Key Duties

  • Carries out assigned work in an expeditious manner, exercises sound judgement in executing each
    work project, and accomplishes all work in compliance with procedures and policies established in
    approved Alaska Airlines manuals.

  • Exercises the authority of an Airman Certificate (Repairman or Airframe and/or Powerplant) in
    signing the corrective action in maintenance documents or the Aircraft Maintenance Log for Return
    To Service, ensuring such is in accordance with Alaska Airlines policies and procedures.

  • Ensures that a clean, safe, and orderly work area is maintained at all times.

  • Acts as Flight Deck Coordinator, when assigned, to ensure safe operation of aircraft systems (e.g.,
    flight controls, electrical, landing gear) from the flight deck.

  • Accesses Learning Management System (LMS) database once every two weeks and complete assigned training in a timely manner, and maintain current qualifications.

  • Maintains compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and Company safety policies and procedures as well as Federal Regulations by reporting any safety hazard or potential hazard.

  • Includes SMS in your daily work habits, and remain current in the training requirements for SMS.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

  • Must possess valid Airframe and Powerplant licenses.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and an ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues.

  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration regulations and company procedures.

  • Must be willing and able to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Four or more years of experience preferred.

  • Two or more years of college preferred.

We have an immediate opening for someone with exceptional business judgment and discretion as well as the initiative and competence to make a significant contribution to the Compass organization. Job Purpose: Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager and direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor will provide technical assistance and labor for any and all problems associated with Aircraft repairs or servicing. Coordinate with Maintenance Control to insure a safe and efficient repair and return to service of aircraft. Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety. Job Qualifications: Required: * United States Citizen or have the legal right to accept employment in the United States * High School Diploma or equivalent * Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license * Valid Driver's license * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; must be fluent in English * Your own hand tools Preferred: * Associate's Degree * Minimum two years of FAR 121 air carrier aircraft maintenance experience * Embraer 170/175, 190 experience * Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) * Valid passport with no travel restrictions Required Physical Demands: * Ability to lift, carry and move medium to heavy weights of 50 pounds or more. * Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity. * There are prolonged periods during which individuals will be standing and working o utdoors. * Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop frequently in confined spaces. Job Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: * Background in regional or mainline aircraft maintenance. * Experience should consist of: * Formal and informal aircraft systems training * Maintenance of aircraft and engine systems * Troubleshooting * Dispatch requirements * Use of specialized tools * Ground support equipment * Technical reports and forms * Online Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, and Parts Catalogs * Aircraft logbook procedures and computer based aircraft maintenance tracking systems * Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills - can work independently while still keeping a team perspective. * Detail orientated with ability to multi-task on a regular basis. * Must be a self-starter and be able to show a demonstrated ability to trouble shoot aircraft problems with little guidance. * Ability to work with fellow coworkers with a variety of personalities. * Must be flexible with respect to work schedule and willing to assist and support others within the company when needed.
