Responsibilities

Related Management is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join us at a 205 unit affordable community in East Orange, NJ. Responsibilities include:

  • Completion of resident work orders (general repairs, plumbing, appliance repairs)

  • Prepare vacant units for future renters

  • Upkeep of the grounds, amenities

  • Ensure all equipment is in working condition and follow preventative maintenance schedule

  • Communicate with the Service Supervisor about unsafe or hazardous environments on the property

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in general maintenance

  • Affordable housing experience preferred

  • HVAC : repairs, cleans, replaces, etc.

  • Plumbing: repairs, replace parts, installation

  • Carpentry: repairs and installs doors, shelves, countertops, locks, etc.

  • Painting: drywall/plaster repairs, painting

  • Electrical/Appliance: lighting, wiring, power circuits, replacing switches, etc.

  • Must able to lift 50LBS and stand for 8 hours

  • Emergency on-call rotation is required

Union Local UA 855 Job Duties & Responsibilities The Auto Technician 2nd Class performs all types of repairs and maintenance to Company vehicles and equipment, together with shop and tools. The candidate must have the ability to work under general supervision, an aptitude for mechanical work and the ability to use all materials, tools and equipment commonly used in repair/service work. Job Qualifications Required: * Must have ability to work under general supervision, aptitude for mechanical work and ability to use all materials, tools and equipment commonly associated with repair/service work. * Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driving history. * Must possess or have ability to acquire NJ Class A Commercial Driver's License with Hazardous Materials and Tanker endorsements. * Must have the ability to successfully complete PSEG's Auto Technician Evaluation Program. * High school graduate or equivalent. * Must have obtained an acceptable score on the Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) Test-Automotive or possess ASE certification. * Safe driving record required. * 3-5 years automotive/mechanical repair experience. Desirable: * Technical school training or automotive certification. * ASE certification; prior experience with hydraulic or construction equipment repair.
