Park Avenue Center provides evidence-based, gender-specific drug and alcohol treatment in south Minneapolis, Minnesota. First established in 1979, Park Avenue Center is a community-based program that proudly serves Minnesota's less fortunate individuals in beautiful settings. Using evidence-based best practices, we have maintained a reputation for the highest quality of services at extremely low rates. Clients we serve typically struggle with multiple barriers including mental illness, homelessness, financial problems, legal issues, and an overall lack of emotional support. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, our staff includes Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Licensed Psychologists, Social Workers and a Registered Nurse. Our robust Mental Health Team allows us to help clients address their various needs. We take pride in the quality of our services and the magnificent environment we have created. I. JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician/Painter's primary role is to support the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Technicians in maintaining Park Avenue Center properties and grounds in good repair and compliance with all applicable codes.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Day to day maintenance of agency facilities including major remodeling, small repairs and building upkeep as directed by the Maintenance Manager..

  • Prepare various surfaces for painting via washing, scraping, sanding, etc., as well as plastering holes and cracks if needed.

  • Perform lawn work and snow removal as needed.

  • Make minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs.

  • Set up and tear down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms and for events.

  • Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.

  • Provide assistance to staff, clients, visitors and other individuals as necessary.

  • Respond to repair requests during off work hours as needed.

  • Respond to and complete assigned work orders in a timely and appropriate manner.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Experience in building maintenance and/or one or more years painting experience.

  • Current MN Driver's License in good standing.

  • Ability to display high levels of client service by responding promptly and thoroughly to the needs of both internal and external parties in accordance with Park Avenue Center values.

  • Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain or snow.

  • Must be detail-oriented and organized with effective time management skills..

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, squat, climb, lift, stand and walk frequently in the performance of responsibilities including prep and painting of interior and exterior surfaces.

This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position, working Monday

  • Friday. Flexible scheduling options are available including working 4-10 hour days with 3 days off each week.

Hourly wage for Maintenance Technician position is $25.00 to start.
